Savage tiers in the past are well, in the past. The hard work was done when it was current. I don’t see an issue allowing people to unsynch them down the line.
Also btw it’s very easy to skip LR now and go right to add phase.

Yeah, without that, Anima weapon would be a pain to do. unsync is litterally the only thing that makes farming those weapons worth you time. Remove that, and it's just a big fat pain. Like the timeworn artifact step for the ShB relics.
Hate to tell you this but the reality of savage is that it is running through a forest blind with 7 other people that you have designated as necessary team-mates that ultimately become passive aggressive punching bags or simply lose their mental health, because they got a RL job and are trying to run content that fails to explain anything on how it works. The reason that people can even find statics after the start of a savage tier is because those statics are losing players to burnout or drama, and no it isn't isolated to some bad group of people, it is the entirety of the end game community. For many people, savage is just a means to an end to get the dyeable version of the armor and maybe the weapon if it looks good, so they don't even find pleasure in the journey of it.People who just run content unsync'd clearly don't care about all the hard work and effort the developers put into the savage fights. For example take a look at that disgusting "good bye world" strat for o12s. Players would rather die than do the mechanic properly and it's not even that hard!
Either that or please start adding unskippable mechanics like Light Rampant
Raiders like me care about the hard work and effort that square puts into the fights, players who do fights unsync'd don't care about the effort the devs put into the fights at all, they just care about the rewards.
I do appreciate square squashing stats which will make unsync'd content harder, but I don't believe that's enough.
And who can blame them if they are grinding and having to die repeatedly to some mechanic for months, because they can only find the time to do it 6-9 hours a week and have to spend 4+ months clearing a tier? Savage raiding is literally getting in and getting out as fast as possible because of how toxic the progression is.
Nowadays you have mechs that insta kill you if you dont solve them. Getting harder now even with item lv sync.
They had attacks like this back in Gordias days and there are patterns that will wipe a group even with sync off from o12s. They really didn't have much of a plan for unsync runs later so mechanics got really weird when gear level got super high. Some attacks that were meant to take out 9/10ths of a DPS HP pool unmitigated take out maybe a third to a quarter, so people can be sloppy as heck. But then there are mechanics that just instantly kill the player with 9 million damage and you have to restart until people master them. But old savage isn't the same as old ultimate. The intent is a bit different between the two as Ultimates are challenge runs, where as savage is just an artificially steep gear grind with minimal payoff and the possibility of getting to see a special boss at the end of it.
I don't mind doing hard content like Bloodstained on highest difficulty, which mirrors the instant death from certain attacks and losing a lot of HP if you take a hit. The issue with savage is that there's too much variance from the other players, which is why it gets toxic to begin with because ones personal progress has no merit if the group has even a single person behind. World of Warcraft got into that mess in a different way with gear grinding going too far and now FFXIV has this issue with going too far on demanding group synergy. If 6/8 people have completed a fight, the group shouldn't be getting wiped on mechanics consistently given they are not even rewarding a single chest, yet here we are.
Reverse take - incentivize going back doing things level synced. I envy Blue Mage raiding for this.
There are lots of groups that do this, they go into old fights MINE and take off gear to create that authenticity. The possibility is therefor people to do it.
I always suggested making the Unsync option be locked behind a completion check, if you do the raid normally at least once then Unsync on that fight is available.
I kept getting tomatoes and will probably get it now since I said something blasphemous.
I know, but the problem I see is a lack of official endorsement to do so, which is what BLU has that would be cool to do with how the kits changed over time.
It's old content, who cares? If you want to do it legit you're gonna have to get yourself a time machine. Syncing doesn't really help anymore with potency changes. Even some Ultimates are a joke synced now. It is what it is. Stop worrying about how other players choose to spend their time. It's their time to spend.
