I responded with that because the person answered the question “Has the game positively affected you?” and not the actual question which was “HOW has the game possitively affected you.”Im a widower now, and at night the place gets very very quiet
FF 14 and its community have been a lifeline in the early hours when i couldnt sleep, or had been to sleep, had..well..nightmares..and couldnt stay in bed.
Met some crazy funny people who knew and understood what I was dealing with , who made sure to keep me amused and engaged. One of those nights was when I FINALLY put ( spoiler name here wont say ) down, to secure Eulmore....they knew that one had been driving me batty and when I finally nailed him, whoops and cheers and merry insults were thrown in chat.a few of them then gathered at Eulmore to welcome me and to ask what took me so long.??
We have been locked down once or twice in Sydney, one of the hardest things when the skies were silent and the world slept was to KNOW that yes there was still a world out there, no I wasnt in a house all by myself with no one else around. Its one thing to finish an expac story or to get through a nasty encounter..its when you get to share that small victory with people, even halfway around the world, that you remember it more.
So yes, after the toxic hellhole that was WOW, the game and its players have been a godsend.
