PS5 vibration only works depending on camera?

So I’m on ps5 and I really like the new vibration functions but they only seem to happen when my camera is really close to my character? Or if I turn up “listening position” from the options to 100, which is not ideal to me cause I’m using TV speakers and ALL I can hear are footsteps haha… is this by design or is it a glitch ? Either way I’m sure I’m not the only one who found this weird

I'm on PS5, and I'm not experiencing this. Vibrations working just fine no matter where my camera is

i think some vibrations are caused by footsteps. it’s really subtle. if you go closer with the camera you‘ll hear and feel them more.

I'm on PS5 and it varies pretty wildly. It's dependent both on the distance your camera is from your character, but also what kind of surface your character is walking on.

Personally I don't like it, and hope they add in an option to turn it off. I find it to just be obnoxious and an unneeded drain on my battery to keep my controller vibrating every step I take anywhere in the game.
