Upon playing Final Fantasy XIV yesterday, I've realized that double tapping the L2 & R2 buttons to access the extended crossbar, it might be easier, more efficient, and the user would have more control over the crossbar to use adaptive triggers for this mechanic. Pressing the button down past the threshold would allow the extended crossbar instead of double tapping.
Furthermore, using this technique can possibly add another crossbar when you press BOTH trigger buttons all the way down past the threshold, or can be expanded to an extended version when you press one trigger partial, and the other (L2 or R2) all the way down past the adaptive threshold.
These are just a few ideas that come to mind that the PS5s adaptive triggers (and not just the PS5, but any controller that utilizes this technology) can help further ease of access and control.
Personally I find that sometimes when playing with a controller, I might double tap and forget I've done so, or can't double tap fast enough when in a hurry. But with adaptive triggers, I will be able to know exactly where I am in the crossbar at anytime, and access the extended crossbar much quicker.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and have a wonderful day!
