FF14 launcher -2146697211 error wont start

I downloaded this game a few days ago and played up to level 13 before taking a break. It's been a long time since playing it and first launch/setup worked perfectly well through steam but now, having done nothing different I'm running into several issues at the launcher, some causing it to say "A Connection Error has occurred. Please try again later." To when I attempted to fix this using some of the online fixes I could find, it switched to a different launcher format before Coming up with the error code stated in the title.

I've tried running it through compatibility mode, restarted PC, turned off firewall, and my latest fix of trying to re-install but now i'm not getting even the option to DL anything as the launcher instantly gets the error and closes.

If there's a way to full-uninstall and reinstall all the settings and such or perhaps a fix I haven't thought of, please. I'm running out of ideas here!

As a fun update.. I was able to bring it out of that error state but bringing my entire computer back a few days.. Now I am at "A connection Error has occured. Please try again later" over everything on my launcher.

Last resort here but, is it possible to back up important things on a flashdrive or cloud account and do a full uninstall/reinstall of your OS? Seems like something broke along the way and if the uninstall/reinstall doesn't work then that means something broke with FF.

Good morning and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

    - The game will use the Internet Explorer web browser to connect to the internet. Open Internet Explorer, then open the "Tools" setting, go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

-Make sure your fire wall or antivirus program is not interfering with the game

    - Check to see if the following port ranges are opened on your router. You can contact your ISP and request they open them for you:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

-Try disabling background applications and do a clean boot by opening the task manager and selecting the “Start up” tab. Disable everything and then restart the PC.
