FFXIV Launcher on PC sometimes visually indicates that it has focus, when it does not

Date & Time: Ongoing
Frequency: Uncommon, but with perfect timing it could happen frequently
SYSTEM_OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit (Build 19042.985)

Steps:

1. Run the FFXIV Launcher.
2. Click a different program's window at the exact wrong moment. (Approximately right as the FFXIV Boot program disappears, before the FFXIV Launcher appears.)
3. (Optional) Accidentally start to type your login details into the wrong program.

I ran into an issue today per the title (opening the launcher along with other applications), so of course my first step was to go to google to see if it was something known and was affecting others. The only relevant result was this thread: https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/422438

It seems as if that thread was closed, but the issue still seems to be happening almost a year later. It's not a good look for overall security when the password field is incorrectly showing focus.

To answer the questions posed by the mod in advance: this is the first time it has impacted me. It's certainly the first time I've noticed it, due to the embarrassment of entering my password in a random discord server instead of the FFXIV launcher's password field. It's possible that this bug has happened in the past but changing applications before coming back to the launcher means the field would have lost fake focus by then, so I wouldn't have noticed. The issue seems to stem from opening the launcher along with another application, as the poster in the other thread stated.

Additionally, it doesn't matter what steps I take in the future (because lesson learned and all - it won't happen again). The point is that this should never happen even once to anyone.

I've noticed this behaviour as well, a private Discord server at least. Promptly changed passwords....Anyways, I actively click the field now to ensure focus, and then click the Login button manually instead of smashing Enter. Still, it's strange behaviour and I'm not sure if it's the XIV launcher or Discord, the latter of which seems to steal focus quite frequently on an otherwise inactive system. Maybe it has to do with notifications? IDK, I'm no expert but I don't like the behaviour.

I won’t even have discord on my main screen, it’ll be behind like, Firefox or something, and I’ll be typing my password in only for it to not work, and for me to realize discord is eating it.

I’ve taken to making sure I click into the password field rather than assume it’s clicked into, whenever I have discord open.

While Discord does seem to be a big offender, it seems like it can happen in certain other cases as well. The OP in the other thread helpfully was able to capture a recording of them reproducing it with Notepad of all things.

Are you running FFXIV in admin mode or discord admin mode? If one or the other will cause issue because of the Discord overlay. Both should not be running admin mode... unless you are using reshade.
