Oh love, you really require to travel a bit more. Outside of English countries, the number of people that have the basic understanding is frustrating.
When I learned English I used to say that I could go anywhere in the globe, and boy I was foolish!
Many players play the game just for the aesthetic and go full skipping the dialogues, as there are a lot of threads asking for translation (taking the past 6 months there was one asking for translation in Italian, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese).
The player base would sure raise on those countries with that, not skyrocket maybe. But language barrier indeed is a thing that keep some people at bay.

There is definetly more than enough of us to put a Datacenter.
And with the influx of players most of the spanish speaking and probably the same is true for portuguese speaking Free Companies from Latin America.

Language localization has never been an issue for this really. The EU Datacenters already have plenty of players from both Spain and Portugal. No one is asking for a Localization: We want to play with a proper ping.
