Are there any other servers that are regarded as a de facto home for Oceania players? Only Tonberry and Kujata come to mind for me, both on Elemental, so if they moved it might require a bit of a reshuffle of the JP servers, which would displace even more people.Yeah it's definitely going to be harder but logging out switching dc's and logging back in isn't that big a deal I do that continually with my alts. I belong to numerous discords for hunts and I'll jump a DC frequently when I'm in capping mode for my alts. It really doesn't take that much time. I have no idea what the names should be though and how they might reshuffle or perhaps that isn't going to happen a reshuffle that is. Light and Chaos have 6 servers each which isn't a lot compared to other data centers.
I really don't know. Juggling servers in North America didn't affect people other than being stuck on another DC. Balmung and Mateus for example were part of Aether before the move to Crystal. Be potentially upsetting to those in the EU or NA or possibly even Japan to simply be moved to another DC cause it will displace them from friends they currently have.
Data Center travel too will have more restrictions so that may affect what people can do with friends if they're forced to have to DC travel to see them.
Japan is probably the closest to Australia so yeah maybe they'll move some Japan servers there to fill out the new server. Seems to me they are going to need to make a few new ones but also have some which are already populated.
