Anyone else feel like the Hrothgar are a little TOO chonky, too similar to Roegadyns?

I love the IDEA of the Hrothgar, but if I'm being honest, I have a hard time not just seeing "Roegadyn with cat-heads". Obviously, it'd be too much to ask for a fully-bipedal race, but when I look at FFX's Kimahri -- who I ASSUME is the basis -- I feel like Kimahri is a lot more evenly-balanced, in terms of muscle. AND he stands a bit more upright.

I imagine it'd be pretty late in the game, so to speak, to give them an update. But I honestly kind of think it might be worthwhile?

Personally, the biggest thing I'd be interested in, in scaling-down the size of their torso a bit. MAYBE beefing their legs up a bit, perhaps even stretching them to stand a bit taller.

I'd personally also change their Standing-animation between the two Clans; for Helions, leave them as-is, but for the Lost, I'd have them stand upright, more like Kimahri did.

Final bit of feedback; I would honestly REALLY dig a more "Canine" looking Face option. In fact, specifically I would like something Behemoth-inspired (the FFXV iteration being my favorite), along with a "mohawk" hairstyle. I feel like that would look dope.

They have far more curvy sillouette. Roes are basically anthropomorphic barrels. While they use the same base model, Hrothgar have thinner waists, are shorter (for some ridiculous reason) even when standing straight, and have completely different animations.
And their muscle textures are more defined in spite of the fur.

Personally I just wish we could A: Not have the "hair"-like fur hiding the chest and B: not be forced to have the hideous hunched walk/run cycle

They're supposed to be based on Ronso. Which is why they're feline-like. That said, Ronso have no problem standing and walking with a straight spine so I don't know what's up with that.

EDIT: Just an observation. I think this could probably have been in the megathread.

You're seeing that because it's exactly what they are. They use the same body model as Roegadyn and you can see it in a lot of their emotes. They also share the hempen underwear set design.

They're also highly unlikely to redesign races once they're implemented. I certainly wouldn't be happy if any of my characters got redesigned because someone else doesn't like the way the race looks.

And implementing one "canine face" on a feline race has never made sense as a suggestion. It's just not what they are.

While I'm not fully familiar with Roegadyn emotes, I can recognise quite a few from what I've seen of characters in cutscenes, and I assume the balance of original and borrowed emotes is the same for Roe/Hrothgar as it is for Viera/Midlander - and I'm much better at recognising those.

They've been given original animations for prominent emotes but others are just copied straight over.

While there are some things I'd like to see updated/changed with Hrothgar, their bulk is not one of them.
We only have two bulky male race to choose from, please don't take away one of them. People who want to play leaner race already have more options to choose from.

I think they are the ultimate chonk and I love them for it. What they really need is hairstyle support.

I'd have been more inclined to play one if they had a physique similar to Highlander men which, in turn, would put them closer to the Ronso of FFX that they're supposedly inspired by. I'm a little baffled that they were designed to have the same build as one of the least played race/gender combinations in the game.

Its a "big" race. What did you expect? I think the bigger issue is that you need fantasia to change hair and the hyper-kyphosis is just painful to look at.

Very much my feelings. I've been saying since ARR first launched, the game really NEEDS a body-type somewhere between Hyur and Roegadyn. The Au Ra wound up being quite cool, but ultimately aren't THAT much more muscular than Elezen. And the male Viera look like they're going to occupy largely the same space as a slightly-taller Miqo'te.

My problem with Roe's has always been they aren't just "big", but wind up feeling sort of "cuddly" instead of DANGEROUS. By comparison, look at Kimahri:

    https://static.myfigurecollection.ne...large/2092.jpg

That's a body-type that, even if you took away the fur and bipedal feet, you'd still be left with a pretty unique silhouette. That's a body-type that would still look distinct, even if you slapped a bunch of plate-armor over it, or covered it in a robe.

The Hrothgar we got just... kind of feel like a lesser-effort.

Anyways; as far as the idea of introducing a Canine-face (referencing another poster), it's not like Hrothgar are LITERALLY related to cats. There no reason they couldn't expand the scope of options.

"Chonky"? I don't know what you're talking about!

In all seriousness, even though I've grown attached to the bulkiness despite playing Miqo'te for 6+ years, I'd love to play as a Hroth that's a bit slimmer.

Having the option to customize your body type, regardless of race, would be nice. But I doubt we might see more customization options anytime soon, considering how much SE seems to be struggling with adding new hairstyles or hats to Hrothgar and Viera.

I wasn't a fan initially. Then I made one on some random server and ran around Gridania a bit to get a feel for how they move, what their emotes were, etc. I never expected to enjoy Hrothgar as much as I do. I still play as one fairly regularly. Currently this guy is a midlander, but that may change for 5.55.

While I cannot give a specific date on when personal housing will be implemented, I can say that prices will be completely separate from free company housing, and, naturally, far more affordable.
