Oh s***, here we go again.
Here is my feedback to Square Enix after Support Desk directed me to the forums. Endwalker is a whole 6 months after the last story patch of Shadowbringers. By saying "Fall 2021" you are misleading people into thinking it's only going to be 3 or 4 months from 5.55. November 24 is not fall, it's winter. I know you don't want people to unsub but truth and honesty is important for a video game company. If you can't make the expansion fast enough then just tell the truth so players can unsub until the new expansion comes out. But if you lie then they will not come back. It's also not funny to joke about how November 24 is "technically" during fall because it's not in America. It's already snowing in November. So my suggestion for Square Enix is to not mislead people next time.
It's funny how your criteria for what determines whether its fall or winter is way too arbitrary (and also ignores the equinox/solstice dates that pretty much everyone uses for seasons) to even work inside of the US. For example, the state I happen to live in doesn't get snow for winter except in the mountains at high altitudes. We do get rain. Lots and lots of rain. If we do happen to get snow outside of the mountains it almost always hits sometime between the tail end of winter and mid-spring. Going by your logic, our winter would be Feb-April/May instead of Dec-Feb. And that's for a place within the US.
Also our big national November holiday is also a autumn harvest festival type of deal, so really don't know how you can think of it as winter holiday...

Happy to see this thread back, it's good entertainment
im baby
You do realize that it is officially fall-moving-into-winter 2021 in the entire Southern Hemisphere right now, right?
To be clear, in the Northern Hemisphere, Fall usually ends with the Harvest, and Winter begins after the first snow. That being said, it doesn't snow in Texas, and it really doesn't look like Fall in Florida in November -- it still looks like the end of Summer.
American Thanksgiving is not a winter holiday, and it falls in November.
It does confirm all the suspicions when threads by multiple authors rise to the top together like this.
I'm confused. Does that mean there's a gap where it's not considered either season? Or both at once if it snowed early?
Seasons just being three designated calendar months each is so much easier to keep track of.
Nah, out of Autumn... we have been in winter for 4 days now. Was even 0 degrees the other night.
Ski Season starts in a week too, some of the mountains have snow now. Hoping for 30cm maybe, for opening.
