Here in Canada, Dec 21, is also the 1st day of winter. But in reality, Anytime there isn't snow on Halloween it's a great year.
Snow doesn't have anything to do with the Seasons.

Seasons as based on the position of the earth around the sun.
Not whether there is snow on the ground. by that logic, It's the only winter every few years in southern states. Better cancels all games with a winter 2022 release.

People are talking about seasons because that was the crux of the thread and why you felt 'mislead' in the first place.

They likely didn't even know the exact release date back in February. They might have hoped for earlier i the fall but had to fall back to November.

Either way, there was nothing wrong with what they said. I'm disappointed it's this late too, it's perfectly fine to feel disappointed by this. Feeling MISLED however is a bit silly.

Especially because sometimes release dates just change. Sometimes things get delayed. If the game was coming out December 30th, within Winter range, that wouldn't necessarily mean they mislead is, it could just mean the game was delayed from their earlier estimates.

They wouldn't gain anything from setting up expectations they know would be let down. They didn't open preorders until after they announced the release date. So it's not like they tried to make people optimistic to grab a quick buck or something.

In the UK we use the term autumn instead of fall. Our meteorological office has the following:
"The seasons are defined as spring (March, April, May), summer (June, July, August), autumn (September, October, November) and winter (December, January, February)".

But really, what is the point of this post? The world has been and is still in various countries under the yoke of the awful Covid virus, causing unprecedented disruption to basically everything we do.
To make matters even worse, one of the core SE team has been battling a terrible illness, having to ask his doctor if he could be at the recent presentation.

And here all we can manage is a moan about flat earth date descriptions. 'it's not fall here'.....'oh it is here'........'oh yes it is '....'oh no it isn't'......
Just please stop this rancid ridiculousness. SE must look at these posts and wonder what kind of horrible people they are trying to please.

That's why different countries have different starting dates for winter. Since it's an international fanfest event it's better to just be honest and say the month instead of the season which is different for everyone. Yes, I know November is fall in Japan... but it's not in America. Also November isn't even fall or winter in Australia it's like spring or summer there.

Autum under Astronomical season is Sep 22 to Dec 21
Autum under Meterological season is Sep 01 - Nov 30

So, they are not wrong, you need to do more reading.

If nation from southern temperate zone is not complaining (Australia), I don't see why someone from NA need to complains

Tail end of november is only really a month or 2 longer than I expected. If nothing else, it means I won't have to choose between this or Tales of Arise which I was expecting to have to.

The real kicker will be the 3 week delay announced around halloween. ;D

November is most definitely Fall. Have you ever seen Thanksgiving decor? I was also surprised by the (quite) late release date, however. It's a bit of a delay.

This isn't the cp2077 devs. I don't think the XIV devs have ever moved a date once one has been announced. Stuff has been delayed yes, but dates are never announced until they know they can meet them.
