That's actually a great idea for a healer Edgelord. I was thinking Necromancer was all that would fit but both of those work great. The question is what tools and weapons would they use?

Yeah I always thought 'Reaper' as a name was a bit too on the nose, but it's JP and they like names that sound a bit basic to us in the west.
My personal hope was for 'Ravager' (which I realise probably sounds just as "basic", but it has precedence in the franchise as a job or 'role' already) with a slightly less 'death-like' theme to it.

I don't consider Reaper to be a Necromancer in any sense.
XIV has Necromancers, they're established in lore and design, and Reaper doesn't fit either of them, but in a broader sense, Reaper fills the same niche that Necromancer would.

I'm not expecting any more Tank or Healer jobs in the games lifetime tbh. I reckon a Caster for 7.0 and a Phys Ranged for 8.0 will be it.

Necromancer was a popular demand aswell but how to fit it in the lore, making it a neutral job and moraly acceptable?
Well summon a pet that looks like a lich/ghost from the void. But that wouldn't be a Necromancer anymore! Boom, Reaper.

It's all cute and all but don't worry, Reaper/Necromancer/Void Mage was expected by many for long.
