I had it running on lutris off a chrome book running xubuntu back during Heavensward. No idea how to run it currently or on this PopOs. I think that was the 32 bit client to at the time.

I don't use PopOS but since it seems to be a Linux distribution maybe my experiences from Debian are useful. I'm using Lutris, with wine version lutris-4.21-x86_64 and DXVK. The new launcher interface does not work so I have to use the old one for now (set Browser 1 in ffxiv_boot.cfg). The installer script available from lutris.net seems to do all the right tricks.

But anyway, it started to download, but after a while i got this error "Unable to complete version update. [30437]"

BrowserType does not matter, but mine is set to 2. Did it start downloading an update for the launcher, or were you able to login and start downloading the game itself? Based on a quick Google search some Windows users are getting that error too, so it may not be Wine-specific. Trying again enough times might fix it. Some users also report getting around it by using a VPN. One basic thing to check is that you have enough space on the filesystem where the game is installed.

Are you running the standalone or Steam version of the game? Did you copy it from a previous installation or do a fresh install in a new wineprefix?

It downloaded the launcher update, i logged in and it started to download the update for the game. And thats when i got the error. I have had the same issue with wine 5.2 and 4.21. I could try to run it again with a VPN and set browswertype to 2. And i am installing the game to my 2TB SSHD where PopOS is installed under /home/username/Games. So should be enought space . I am trying to install the standalone version, fresh with new wineprefix :3
