Is Zenos becoming a Scion? (Spoilers)

Zenos has made it really clear how little Fanadaniel actually matters to him, so I'd like to hope the latter expects a potential betrayal and doesn't allow himself to be killed easily unless he feels certain his plan has progressed to a point where the world's destruction is assured. The guy does want to die, after all.

Honestly, I think it would make Zenos a much more interesting character than he is now.

If they continue as-is, he'll have the exact same character arc... *twice*. He wasnt even that great of a villain to begin with. Mix it up FFS.

I don’t think Zenos has shown enough depth for this to be done in any way that makes sense. He just really wants to kill us because he’s bored. And kill everyone else because he’s bored. And end the world because he’s bored. I suppose in theory he could join us out of boredom too. But would anyone really care?

Unless he has a massive redemption arc, please no.

Just from the top of my head, Zenos did many bad things:
-Killed most of the Doman forces including the leader without batting an eye.
-Killed people he didn't liked when he was in the garlean army, both foes and allies.
-Forced Fordola to kill her companions.

He kills thousands just for entertainment and that was just Stormblood. Most of these murder are a necessary evil when you're part of an army.
After Shadowbringers conclusion, he killed Varis which started a revolution, killing more innocents.
He's probably the one behind the massive structure that erased the Garlean capital.

We know for sure the towers are Fandaniel's doing, towers that enslave beast tribes and humans alike. We know for sure Fandaniel wants to re-enact the final days of Amaurot and destroys the world.
Zenos wants the end of the world as a scenery which will kill even more innocent souls.

Good luck pulling a redemption arc with that mass murderer. At most he'll accompany the WoL for a moment like Emet-Selch but without acting.

They can always do the Golbez thing, and reveal that he's been under some sort of geas since childhood. It would be a pretty ridiculous plot twist, but... hey, it worked for Golbez.

I feel there is a difference between Zenos and Vegeta (besides the fact that Vegeta actually has a larger body count by orders of magnitude) Vegeta had a fairly steady climb from pure villain in one arc, to still a villain but fighting the other villains, to technically on the heroes side because the threat is just that big, to begrudgingly being on their side (He progressed past that, but I think Android/Cell arc Vegeta is the bare minimum to join the heroes.) Where Zenos is now is like if Vegeta went from the early Namek arc directly to Majin Vegeta without any character growth along the way. Sure he may be redeemed and join our side and whatnot, but pulling off what took Vegeta three or four arcs to pull off in a single expansion will seem rushed (Unless he hands with us basically the entire expac, he won't get nearly as much screen time as Vegeta).

If the expansion pulls hard from FF4, it could be possible...although it wasn't particularly satisfying there so...

Spoilers for FF4???

The big bad in FF4 was "Golbez" up until the last chapter..so like 95% of the game. It turns out he was being mind-controlled by an ancient evil called "Zemus". In FF4 we traveled to the moon, fought the evil with a little bit of Golbez's help. Of note, our dear friend, Kain, was also mind controlled short term...so I wouldn't be shocked if Estenien goes rogue for a bit.

All that said I don't expect this as it would be kinda lazy of the devs to pull THAT much.

In order to get a redemption arc, first he'd have to be an actual character, rather than just a plot device. The Enterprise has more character than he does.

I for one would welcome my frenemy it's about time we got someone else in the scions that pull their own weight unlike this useless sods in the trust maybe this guy even knows how to aoe

Jesus christ no. That would make absolutely no sense, especially since we've killed villains for much less than what Zenos has pulled on us. He's not redeemable to the extent you can make him a permanent addition to the heroes roster, because there's not even a hint of a hero in him. His only motivation is the WoL and nothing else, and there's no way to channel that passion into the goals of the scions... which is to say nothing of how not a single one of the scions would even want Zenos there to begin with.

Let's not forget Fordola has only about half the crimes Zenos has and people struggle to accept her. There's no way the murderous crown prince of garlemald would be welcomed in the slightest.

The most they can do, which I'm also partially hoping for, is a temporary uneasy alliance for like 1 level of the MSQ. A period of time where you don't want to work together with Zenos, but have to for some reason, and it's right back to enemies as soon as that's done. I'd love a single Trust instance with Zenos in this vein, but I won't hold my breath on that one.
