Would you rather they had made tiny dragon men, or giant dragon ladies? Because I can tell you just from looking at and this very thread (and the current femroe population) that almost no one would have played either.
I think female Viera blows that assumption out of the water.
Female Au ra isn't condemned because they are short, their design is looked down upon because of their counterpart (male Au ra) who are very tall.
We do not need to repeat this with male Viera. Do I want a short/same height male Viera? Sure, I don't want to take something away from those that want them short. But to refuse to make the height slider have a range that would let them be taller than the tallest female Viera is not a great decision; I can understand if in the lore they want male Viera to be presented as somewhat short, but from a gameplay and character creation and player standpoint it artificially limits them. Those of us who wanted to make somewhat normal looking human male character we're basically left with Orc-shaped Roegadyn, animal Hrothgar, or giraffe proportions Elezen.
Male Viera has a chance to be that middle grown which covers both the short end and the tall end like female Roegadyn did on the female side.

bunnys are small lolfell shouls be taller then bunnies
I prefer little bunboys, but there is nothing wrong with big bunboys.
It's not like all humans in the real world are 1.82 metres tall (my height), after all. It's not unusual to have a 30cm difference between humans, and quite, if not very common to have a 10cm difference.
BOY BUNNYLETS, LETS GOOOO
I like that they're tall. I'm not particularly interested in another drastic size difference for a playable race. Especially with niche aesthetics being just that - niche.
A lot of people talk up how amazing female Roegadyn are, for example, yet they're the least played race and gender in the game.
