So is All Saints Wake/Halloween just not going to be a thing anymore?

Just because they didn’t put it on the timeline doesn’t mean we aren’t going to have it. They released their plans for as far as September, with the exception of the expansion release in November, but they never once said we WEREN’T getting it...

It's not just because they didn't put it there (nevermind that they put there every event no matter how far so still not a point), but with expansion coming in november is hard to see them putting work for an event that comes out pretty much at the same time, they're gonna be veeery busy those prior months.

All Saints' Wake is my favorite seasonal. It's possible they just neglected to list ASW, but I don't think it'll return this year.

I don't think it's unpopular, it's just not a major event. If there's any event to cut, Valentiones, Hatching-Tide, and ASW are first to bite it.

I'd like to see the decorations and the mansion come back at least.

I wouldn't care if they just re-used old content. Not the quests and rewards, but just the content. Valentine's had that duty 2 people could go in with the maze and the memory card thing at the end. They re-used that before, but not this year? Halloween has at least 2 different haunted houses. One where you can just hang out as different NPCs (was that only 1 year?), the other that is a duty where you find the pumpkins and the 4 digit code as a team, used multiple years. And various town decorations for each. I would rather them spin those things up, with no rewards (please state as such ahead of time and why) than to have no event at all.


Last year I would have bought it. "COVID bad, here enjoy this, sorry no rewards." instead of no Halloween. And this year "COVID bad, expansion next month, here enjoy this, sorry no rewards." instead of another year no event. I'm a sucker, I enjoyed both of these duty activities even after I no longer needed any reward. Now, I wouldn't buy that excuse next year, a third in a row. First year a shock, second year settling down on all the remote work stuff, third year if everything not back to normal remote work should be streamlined enough to stop hanging on the COVID excuse.


Of course Easter event this year came out very last minute, a week or two late-ish. Maybe this year will be the same for Halloween. If anything happens, great. If not, sucks, but nothing I will rage or cancel sub over.

Last year we did have the haunted house with the imp that could glamour players as NPCs, including new NPCs from Shadowbringers. The steward was hanging out in the Gold Saucer.

Yeah I'm hoping it's just left off. Doesn't need to be anything fancy. Just bring the old haunted house instance back. I need to fill all my alt's retainers back up with Pumpkin Stew.

As stated, Moonfire Faire is, by a lot. I don’t think Halloween is as much a cultural thing (as in fun spooky stuff and celebration of horror in general) in non-English speaking territories. There is no harvest festival or respect and remembrance of the dead kind of thing associated with the in-game event, though that could be a direction to take it later, if they wanted to.

I'm guessing that they don't know if they can fit it in yet or not, so they decided to leave it out until they know what things look like by then. It's an approach they've taken to some things before.

They actually did delay it a month.
