Curious what you all think about the new group painted picture.

My first thought was, weird how WoL isn't the center main focus of the picture. Shadowbringers had him the same size as all the other characters but still in the center. He's sorta in the center but you can't even see his full body. I found that interesting, because it led me to speculate this is more of a full scion game than it is totally focused on WoL? Could this focus more on the scions because we're potentially losing them and getting a whole new team in the next story? ( )

Second thought, who's the girl at the top? Is that Minfilia somehow? Ryne? Avatar of Hydaelyn?

Who do you think she is and what did you think about the artwork?

My thought about the woman at the top goes for Venat/Hydaelyn, looking at her Ascian attire (I actually just saw a theory that Venat is Minfilia in Amaurot because of their shared pose... makes so much sense actually, story wise).

As for the scions being the center of the expansion - it makes sense since it's a final of Zodiark and Hydaelin arc, and we probably won't need Archons anymore after that ancient conflict is resolved. So rather than losing them, we probably will see some changes in how our party operates after that.

I don't think so, initially the Scions were around to combat the primal threat, and while the Ascians were responsible for much of that, we have seen already that primals can be summoned without Ascian intervention. Just need enough crystals and strong enough emotion and/or conviction for it to happen. Who knows what primals are in other parts of the Source that haven't been dealt with yet, also Odin is still running around doing his thing.

The Scions also act as diplomats and I don't think everyone is going to be best buds after the incoming calamity is dealt with. Even if the Garlean empire is dismantled there are still going to be border disputes and power hungry people wanting to take advantage of post war struggles. There may even be Garlean opportunists wanting to rebuild the empire. Never mind how Fandaniel acting in the open is going to make many people curious about his power as well as what he achieved with the towers. For all we know Fandaniel's activities may awaken the Echo in many people, similar to what happened in the First, and that on its own could cause some problems. What if the wrong person manages to figure out how to tap into their Ascian heritage?

Then there's the void. It has been strongly hinted at the end of the role quests that it's not going to remain a no-man's land forever, and well the Scions are already in the habit of both combatting calamities and picking up the pieces after them.

I'm dumb lol. I haven't finished 5.5 story yet and didn't even think that there might be someone related to her in the story. I'll keep an eye out for Venat and compare to the poster. Either way, thanks for the info.

I had a really weird feeling going into this fanfest about the scions. I think there's a story pathway for almost everyone to step out of the party. Alphinaud could take up a leadership position in Sharlayan(sp), Yshtola could find a way back to Runar and study more ancient ruins, Thancred could retire somewhere in a bathhouse. The only ones I thought might keep going were Estinien / Graha b/c we just got them and urianger b/c I mean.. where's that guy gonna go? Alisaie could go either way; she could either continue with us b/c she loves us or she could go on her own adventures as her own WoL like she started to do in Ahm Arang. Once I saw the artwork I thought, hm... maybe we are losing them lol.

I kind of think that all playable scions are in a sort safe zone honestly. XD would be a bit weird to kill somebody and then use them in Trusts. I would worry more characters like Lyse and nations leaders.

That's a good point about the playable bit for the trusts. I was wondering about the leaders too and how it looks like everything is pretty much on fire. Really good points

Oh I have another theory. What if the lady ontop of the picture is the last ascian or maybe even an ancient one? I definitely think that zone on the moon has the last ascian / ancient one tucked away and we gotta go to them for help.
