I’d be viera now if I could get access to some new hairstyles and some of my favorite hats, like the eastern socialite hat. I won’t be playing a male viera, but I have a Fantasia saved for the fall when they hopefully have more available for the female viera.

Actually, I believe the male Viera will end up thinning out male Elezen and male Au Ra populations moreso than male Miqo'te, just like how female Elezen and female Roegadyn were most impacted by female Viera.

When the female Viera first came out, female Elezen and female Roegadyn lost more than 10 percent of their population each. whereas female Miqo'te lost 3 percent. Apart from limited hairstyles, female Viera have a more tall, statuesque build as opposed to the dainty and petite build of Miqo'te and Au Ra. And because the dainty, petite archetype is more popular than tall and statuesque, Miqo'te and Au Ra continue to be the most popular races for females. This is the same reason that a lot of female Viera players make their Viera minimum height.

For males, the most popular archetype would be the youthful and slim pretty boy (anime protagonist). Midlanders and Miqo'te are the most popular races for males for that reason.

People who want to play a taller pretty boy type would have to resort to Elezen or Au Ra. Au Ra have the edge on Elezen because they have more unique features and better emotes/animations. Roegadyn, Hrothgar, and Highlander are way too bulky and do not have pretty boy faces (notice how they're all rare and appeal to the bara crowd). Male Viera, however, would be perfect because they fit that archetype while also being taller than Midlanders and Miqo'te. Part of what makes male Miqo'te appealing, apart from their cat ears, is their size. Shortness is usually equated with cuteness. I think a lot of male Miqo'te players like playing as a cute, short guy. But for those who want to play as a tall, cute guy, male Viera will probably end up being more appealing than Elezen and Au Ra.

That's why I predict that the upcoming apocalypse will be moreso of a male Elezen and male Au Ra apocalypse.

I have a feeling that Miqo'te will still be the most popular male race, and it'll probably be a close call between Midlander and Viera for second place. The biggest factor will be the fact that the male Viera will have limited hairstyles to choose from.

Male Au Ra and Lalafell will still be fairly popular too. And of course, Highlander, Elezen, Roegadyn, and Hrothgar will continue to be rare.

As for female Hrothgar, they'll be second rarest after Femroes. They miiight be as popular as FemElezens, and even outnumber them on certain servers, but it would be pretty close.
