Unfortunately have to agree. That pet and forced change to black robes during burst is pretty silly.

Yep, and this is exactly why I wasn't excited about scythe being the weapon everyone has been clamouring for. They could have maybe done something interesting with scythe or even gone into a more martials arts direction like with Ranjit but nope. They just leaned super hard into chuuni grimdark edgelord to the point where they even included a demonic/ghost companion. I know some (a lot?) of people are super hyped by that but I just groaned. It looks like it could be fun to play but esthetic wise it's just.. kind of boring and super expected.

Yep. Gameplay itself might be unironically extremely fun, but aesthetics are extremely boring.

The artifact armor and the black robes bit makes it look like a odd fit for the heavy armor look of most maiming gear sets. It looks like it should be wearing striking gear instead of maiming.

I think you change more than just your clothes, notice that lack of horns and tail (since the example character was an Au Ra) and different face appearance.

I'd like to hope that's just because the job is a still a work in progress.

It's one thing to strip away your glams, but removing racial features is just silly.

That's how it should be in my opinion. Once you become the host of your avatar, it should be more about becoming the avatar, not remaining as what you were.
