I think a different rez mechanic would be interesting. Requiring a full gauge, no or short cast time and essentially uses the voidsent to "rez" a target player. That player is then treated as being under living dead for 10 seconds or so. Thus allowing bringing back a dps in a critical burn phase but still requiring healer input if that dps is to stay up. Throw in a pretty hefty cooldown to prevent abuse.

Sounds like a rez that nobody's ever gonna use tbh. Take it off the hotbar and keep rolling with the mighty Red Mage in your squad instead.

I don't care. I would use it. There's already a whole parade of morons who don't use their role skills or other utility amongst all jobs so that isn't an excuse. I very much don't want to hardcast a rez though, I'd expect it to be instant with a cooldown similar or longer to swiftcast. Tying it to a resource would suck but if that's the price, so be it. If they did require it to be hardcast I would still use it, but pretty much only in the case of all the other rezzers being dead.
