For the positional we can take an educated guess
we currently have 4 melee with a different amount of positional
MNK has a positional on all his skill, so 100% positional
NIN has a positional on every third combo, if we take into account the mudra we probably hit something akin to 25% gcd are positional. However 80% of that 25% is "behind".
Even by ignoring Armor Crush position you'd only fail 1 positional every 30s. So not a lot considering the quick gcd. Therefor I would consider NIN to have a "low positional requirement"
DRG has what we would consider a long streak of 10gcd for the double combo, 5 of which are positional and 2 having a double value to unlock Raiden Thrust.
So DRG has 50% positional with 2 having a double value, so we can litterally raise the number of pos to "7" in term of value, so 70% positional.
SAM in order to get 3 sen must do 8 gcd, 2 of which are positional. ignoring Meikyou and other subtelty, we can say it has 25% positional
Therefor we have 3 ranking of position
Very high (100%) : MNK
Medium (75%) : DRG
Low (25%) : NIN/SAM
From there we can make an educated guess depending on wether or not they want (or not) to have variety with positional. If they don't care, what follow doesn't matter obviously.
We have 2 slots available, "Medium" and "High". If I were developping the job, I would put it in medium to put in on par (or slightly less) than DRG.
My reasoning would be, positional are a core part of the MNK job. Anyone who's played MNK knows it is "the positional job", if you don't like positional, don't touch (for the same reason that if you don't like long cast, don't play BLM).
By giving it a medium amount of positional, I would also play it safe as I wouldn't rub in the wrong way positional lovers/haters.
Those who enjoy positional, would still be satisfied as it's still more than NIN/SAM (but not as much as MNK)
Those who do not enjoy positionals would be glad that it is not as intensive as MNK. (but not as low as NIN/SAM)
I think most melee players are somewhere in the middle range in term of liking/hating of positional, most melee (from what I've gathered from reading forums) do like positional, but not to the point of having one on every single gcd.
So that's my guess. Around the same as DRG and probably slightly less. But more than NIN/SAM
Obviously, this is 100% pure speculation, they could have gone with a totally different priority, vision for the job or simply didn't even care nor take into account the amount of positional each job has (which would be very disapointing imo)
In term of pace, usually jobs with Scyth have always been faster, however if we do the same thing as the above but for speed, we have
Fast : MNK / NIN
Slow : DRG
With SAM being able to be both fast and slow. However most SAM play it fast with a lot of SS.
Therefor only 1 melee has a "slow" gcd. Therefor, if again I were concerned with gcd variety, I would go for a slow hard hitting job. But who knows :3
