I'll be making my new main. Looks like a builder spender job. Probably build up to your voidsent mode for big deeps. Super edgy and dark. I hope it's fastpaced and not super reliant on positionals.

I think the job hits all the right notes. Scythe, voidsent familiar, trance mode, maiming gear, and will have that Dark Knight aesthetic players would have liked in HW.

Seems very Dark Souls/SMT inspired.

Can't wait for it.

I am probably going to get some hate for this but it looks kind of meh. Like they took the Reaper class from Guild Wars 2 and gave it Bloodborne armor. A bunch of slashing attacks, the summon voidsent is nothing but an attack animation, outfit changes during the burst phase and that's about it. Another class that uses maiming gear and armed with a polearm; a Dark Knight DPS for those who don't want to tank. Nothing about it seems real original or exciting.

I'm in agreement with all of the above, and I'll throw in some massive confusion over the whole summoning Voidsent stuff. The Voidsent have always been big ol' villains in the game given their whole "kill everything in sight and eat as much aether as possible" deal. Cloud of Darkness? Evil as hell Voidsent that wanted to destroy Eorzea, we kicked the crap outta her in the Crystal Tower series. Diabolos? Stupidly powerful Voidsent summoned by Mhach, was sealed by Amdapor because they couldn't kill him, he broke free and eventually absorbed Scathach to become Diabolos Hollow and we killed him in the Void Ark series. And those are the big ones, there have been minor Voidsent everywhere and they've always been a problem. But nah, we're just gonna channel a Voidsent and let one possess us. This Job better have some fantastic lore backing it up because it sounds equal parts stupid and dangerous. Imagine making a deal with the XIV equivalent of freaking demons and letting one possess you. Brilliant idea, Derplander.

I’m surprised that they are releasing a variant of Necromancer especially with how taboo it is in China.

But excited for the diversity it will bring to the game. I wonder if they will have access to other voidsent avatars, or if it’s like dragoon from FF11 which only had one wyvern.

Got to wonder if we are going to get some skills and attacks similar to not only FFXI Dark Knight but also from some of the Voidsent bosses in XIV notably from the Shadow of Mhach raid series if we are going to channel Voidsent allies.

Judging by the footage I'm going to guess we have our regular combo, the Voidsent familiar as Ogcds and Devil Trigger as our big CD unless it's a resource we build up and expend. Looks like we might have a DPS burst phase of our own version of Fell Cleaves.

I'm very interested in the job mechanics.

As for the Voidsent itself, it might be very sentient and might hail from the 13th. Very interested in learning about the creature itself.

We might develop a Eddie Brock and Venom relationship with it.

I’m excited for it. My ingame husband is also excited. All he ever wanted for a scythe wielding job and now he has it. He said it will be his main dps. For me if it doesn’t have positional I will delve into as well. However it kinda gave me a sneak peak into what they may be doing to summoner/scholar with faeries and summons. Summon is my main so I’m super excited. Reaper and their avatar is like what summoner should of been this entire time.
