Well, we don't HAVE to be the only ones with dirt on him in our little group. We already know Tataru has been able to blackmail many a person, and considering all the Scions are FROM Sharlayan, one of them could easily have an old story he doesn't want getting out.

Tataru might be able to find something on him, but it would have to be something "new" that makes equal sense to everyone.

In any case I think it would be a poor plot point to just get a free chance to manipulate the villain. The full extent of Tataru's blackmailing (that we've seen) is Carvallain, and that's just a neat excuse to bring an existing character into the main plot while confirming existing information. There's no tension in that event - we were going to be on a ship to the Far East anyway; that just made it a memorable one.

(Estinien too, but that was more Krile's work IIRC, and trickery rather than information gathering. And again, no real tension because of course they were going to rope him back into the plot somehow.)

I didn't think too much of that unnamed zone in the sky initially, but after people pointed out that there's seemingly Amaurotine architecture there in a different topic, my head is spinning at the potential implications.

It would be pretty wild if it turns out that there's still a small population living up there since the pre-Sundering days; perhaps clinging to the one portion of the ancient world that's still intact after countless millenia.

Just a couple of random thoughts after musing on a couple of things that were revealed (that might have been possibly expressed already, I admit not reading the thread in its entirety)

• The Fender Stratocaster XIV:
  Housing item and bard perform instrument are great. But aren't guitars also referred to as "axes" and they sound better after a little smashing? A WAR glamour weapon would be an idea. Making dissonance sounds.
• Reaper and scythe weapons:
  I hope the Blackbosom Reaper Set that already exists in the online store is extended to contain the weapon model for reaper.

I guess Chrono Trigger counts as a cousin to the FF series, in the same way Parasite Eve is. (It's the Sakaguchi factor.)

Would make sense for this to be the reference area to CT, considering Pharos Sirius feels like a pretty big reference to Parasite Eve. I mean, look at the dungeon, haunting singing, people and animals corrupted by yellow-ish goo, climbing up a giant tower, just to fight an evil female who has the ability to dash across the screen and do massive damage if you're not near it. Did I just describe Pharos Sirius, or the PE Chrysler Building? Hell, even Siren's design can feel a bit PE-ish.

It is weird we didn't really get an underground zone in Novrandt because of that but as far as we know, dwarves as a culture don't really exist outside of the First, so I doubt they have anything to do with Labyrinthos.

My guess is that Labyrynthyos will be under Old Sharlyan or somewhere in the vicinity and be the outdoor zone tied to the city, just as Radz-at-Hahn has the Thavnair zone. But time will tell.

The architecture screams Dravanian Hinterland / Idyllshire-adjacent to me.

Shot from the hip for me is it's Old Sharlayan's geofront where they plan to - as was the "right decision" every other time someone claimed it was the end of the world - hole up and come out when it's over to find Eorzea is bright and beautiful and clean again. You know, not out of cowardly self-preservation but historical precedent and a duty to preserve knowledge.
