Story naming error in the binding coil questline

Steps:
1. During the quest "fragments of truth", you start the quest by talking to Urianger.
2. Next quest step is to talk to "Alisaie's assistant" at the burning wall.
3. During this cutscene, Alisaie's assistant refers to himself as "Sinis", while Alisaie adresses him as "Deks".
4. During the conversation, Alisaie's assistant mentions his brother "Deks", while Alisaie refers to the brother as "Sinis".

Alisaie's Assistant: I say, are you not Mistress Thryven, my lady's most faithful companion? Sinis, madam, at your service! And may I say what an honor it is to meet you!
Alisaie: How goes the survey, Deks?
Alisaie's Assistant: Ahem. My lady! It shames me to say that I have found no viable path to the fragment.
Alisaie's Assistant: Though it stands there, before our very eyes, the way thither has thus far proven impassable.
Alisaie's Assistant: When the fragment fell and pierced the land, it caused a prodigious amount of aether to spew forth.
Alisaie's Assistant: 'Twas this that gave rise to the land's twisted lay, which seems destined to thwart our efforts.
Alisaie's Assistant: Even were an opening to exist, I fear that we would struggle to reach it.
Alisaie: We cannot give up. Keep trying.
Alisaie: So near and yet so far... Well, it avails us naught to stand here and stare at the thing. Let us away to Mor Dhona, and try the other fragment. Perhaps Sinis has fared better.
Alisaie's Assistant: Ah! U-Upon that note, my lady, there is something I must tell you. I am sorry to report that I lost contact with my brother just over a bell ago...
Alisaie's Assistant: A-As you know, the Singing Shards are home to many fell creatures, ogres among them... While I do not wish to cause you undue alarm, I fear something unspeakable may have happened to Deks.
Alisaie: What!? Why didn't you─!? Give me strength!
Alisaie: We must hurry to my assistant's aid, Lana.

Read it over again. Alisaie is getting their names wrong because she can't tell them apart.

(He refers to Deks by name to make it clear that it's not him, without actually having to correct his boss.)

Alisaie: What!? Why didn't you─!? Give me strength! (She has caught on and is horrified she's been getting it wrong. "Why didn't you say something sooner?" is most likely the intended sentence.)

if that is the case it's not communicated well, but oh well

I did read it over again.
You're making an assumption on how to read it, another assumption would be that Alisaie is horrified because she is worried about the other assistant.
Sinis may be stuttering because he failed to mention losing contact with his brother. As to not to worry Alisaie.

It's small, but it's a mistake that could be fixed easily by either adding something like:
"Alisaie's Assistant: But I'm-! U-Upon that note, my lady, there is something I must tell you. I am sorry to report that I lost contact with my brother just over a bell ago..."

Or just making the names correct.

Sinis may be stuttering because he failed to mention losing contact with his brother. As to not to worry Alisaie.

He probably is, but that doesn't have anything to do with whether or not Alisaie is using the right names.
