Thing is FF is going to attract what kind of player... oh a FF PLAYER, THEY NEED TO STICK WITH THEIR FANS FIRSTAnd all you can say is "it was a year ago."
But that data was what shaped the focus of 2.0. It's significant because SE wants a large population. So if they're going to do an unprecedented feat like rebuild a game from the ground up, for which percentage do you think they're going to design?
The future of XIV isn't about who is playing right now. It's about bringing in people who weren't happy with what was released. SE asked their opinion, made a decision and set down a two-year road to try and ressurect a failed launch.
It's in the PDFs. But let me guess, "lol, they're from six months ago." They're designing a Worldless model for cross server play that is dependant on instances. Without the content for it, what's the point in spending two years creating a server structure like that?

Their fans who grew up playing single-player console games?
Clearly they're the crowd that would be attracted to claim wars and camp fests.
Still remember spending three hours staring at my screen in FFVI waiting for Kefka to spawn...
So you're suggesting that you saw every mob, player and NPC in a Beseiged? Because its not a matter of lag. The game was capped as to how many characters could be shown.

FFXI, how many ffxi players would have liked ffxi-2, they could have even made it a little more casual, that's fine but it would have been a successful game.

But they didn't make XI-2. They made XIV, it only failed because it was released too early.
And on what grounds would XI-2 have been a "successful game" other than in your own baseless personal opinion?
The current XI can't even be the old XI anymore. Why would a new old XI be successful?

People were complaining about lag and i said i didnt have lag issues.Their fans who grew up playing single-player console games?

Oh look, something being blown out of proportion again by Rokein.
That said though, he's partially right. This is kinda shitty and a huge letdown. Was hoping to just be able to walk in like campaign and join a random party for this for seals/whatever. If it changes in 2.0 to being open world then cool, if it stays instanced, I'll probably eventually grow tired of it.
in other words: "Lol I can't believe people are complaining about this. Oh actually, now that i think about it, I completely hate this too, it should be redone entirely otherwise scrapped completely."Oh look, something being blown out of proportion again by Rokein.

lets not forget /shout <Party do you need it?> Hamlet Defense! 2/8Oh look, something being blown out of proportion again by Rokein.

Not really? I pretty much stated that I personally won't be using it if it stays the same. I'm not saying abolish it completely. The context Rokien is putting it through is just the typical HOLY SHIT THE GAME IS BEING RUINED hyperbole that he's known for.
I doubt anyone is going to be shouting for a hamlet defense. If anything they'll be shouting near the hamlet. But at least that's more productive than half of the jibberish spouted in /shout already.
