5-10 npcs 15 players 10 mobs at a time(really hard to kill) they could have made it worked
#1 You don't have a clue how many people will play Hamlets unless your psychic, and also the first week, especially the first day everyone is going to WANT to try out this new content.. so your going to figure 200+ people going to be at the Hamlets doorstep wanting to try out it's content. So no this would not be able to work on a first week post 1.22 Basis! ( and this is all on based that you want this content Non-Instanced)
#2 You don't know how many NPC will be participating in the Hamlets (the Screenshot that says " Militia Survivors" says 10, that means there could very well be more then 10 NPC, since you have to keep them alive also)
#3 You don;t know how many Monsters are going to be popping out at once ( First wave 25 weak Pawns Second wave 15 mid-hard mobs, third wave 10 Hard mobs) we don;t even know whats in store with any of this.
But one thing is for certain though... you cannot sit here and tell me that only 15 players are going to show up at the Hamlets Defense..
and besides 8 ppl + 10 or more NPCs and 10+mobs at a time isn't much of a difference as 15 ppl + 10 or more NPCs and 10+mobs at a time... there isn't really much of a difference if that's what you are implying.

Gifthorse, please come back. Bring Belgianrofl and Killtia Filmore or whatever she was called.
Please.

hmm they dont actually say 1 party per instance so it makes me wonder if more then 1 party will take part. I also wonder if DoH and DoL will need spots in the party as well because of this part.
Very interesting stuff indeed. Guess we wont know for a couple of days yet as I'm assuming the first 50 hours will be DOL/DOH only.Disciples of the Land can help weaken the invading beastmen by collecting alchemical pots stored throughout the hamlet and delivering them, intact, to the militia quartermaster. Different pot combinations result in different enfeeblements, so communication with the front lines will be important when determining which type of enfeeblement is required when.
Disciples of the Hand can help enhance the militia allies by crafting instruments of warfare with parts found in the hamlet, and then delivering the completed items to the militia quartermaster.

Instances suck for my play style. I don't have time to wait and join instances of 8 people who want you to commit to X number of runs.
I was really expecting something more like campaign.... /sigh
I'm just about done with this game really. Haven't played in a week or so.... its just going the wrong direction. {Too bad.}
It's not like Yoshi-p has a Choice in the matter.. With the current Server Structure.. this is what we have to deal with till 2.0. In 2.0, Yoshi-p will have Choices to go by.Instances suck for my play style. I don't have time to wait and join instances of 8 people who want you to commit to X number of runs.

Actually i kinda agree wit Rokien. Alittle open world here would be nice. As for ppl saying besiege, we learned to adapt to it, just like we did in 11, just like we did for ifrit in here. For casual players it wouldve been nice if like say "oh i only have 20 mins before i have to get ready for work. Oh ill just kill a few mobs in Hamlet and leave." if it was open world. No now you have to wait for a party to get ready for instances. And im NOT saying get rid of instances i love them. just not everything has to be instanced.
In Strongholds, you get like 3 parties and 30 mobs in the same area, so what's the big deal with these "limitations" anyway. Seems like just another excuse to make an instance.
Will there be more Garlean Invasion events? Those were kind of fun. I thought Hamlet defence would be like that, but more involving. What happened?
I can't believe it took them so long to just make an instaced Grand Company Guildleve mod.
