For most it isn't a graphical issue, but network latency. It's all 0's and 1's flyin through a command-line server, it isn't that friggin difficult.Having a beast tribe attacking 1 location for whole day would cause massive lag. I know FFXIV doesn't have the biggest population but it would still lag like a b*tch. The graphic beauty of this game comes with a price. Wow can have open world raids because any computer can run wow toons, and enviroments. I had to build my computer to play 14, due to the high graphics demand

Soo agree, I wanted something like Campaign in FF11, I can't believe this is instance and Max 8 ><
They have an old saying: If you cant do it right dont do it alt all. I dont care what excuses they can come up with, its getting old plain and simple. What should SE have done than was not impliment it till 2.0 thats the bottom line!
lol, the only response you ever use is this. A poll taken last year, by a majority of people who hadn't yet gotten to experience the bad instances of which FFXIV has brought to the table. Even more so, the complete number was not 80% even a year ago, and we all know that the number would change if the poll was able to be re-taken now.

But that data was what shaped the focus of 2.0. It's significant because SE wants a large population. So if they're going to do an unprecedented feat like rebuild a game from the ground up, for which percentage do you think they're going to design?
The future of XIV isn't about who is playing right now. It's about bringing in people who weren't happy with what was released. SE asked their opinion, made a decision and set down a two-year road to try and ressurect a failed launch.
It's in the PDFs. But let me guess, "lol, they're from six months ago." They're designing a Worldless model for cross server play that is dependant on instances. Without the content for it, what's the point in spending two years creating a server structure like that?
Thing is FF is going to attract what kind of player... oh a FF PLAYER, THEY NEED TO STICK WITH THEIR FANS FIRSTAnd all you can say is "it was a year ago."

Their fans who grew up playing single-player console games?
Clearly they're the crowd that would be attracted to claim wars and camp fests.
Still remember spending three hours staring at my screen in FFVI waiting for Kefka to spawn...
So you're suggesting that you saw every mob, player and NPC in a Beseiged? Because its not a matter of lag. The game was capped as to how many characters could be shown.

Oh look, something being blown out of proportion again by Rokein.
That said though, he's partially right. This is kinda shitty and a huge letdown. Was hoping to just be able to walk in like campaign and join a random party for this for seals/whatever. If it changes in 2.0 to being open world then cool, if it stays instanced, I'll probably eventually grow tired of it.
I said alot more than "it was a year ago". If I remember correctly I said enough to warrant 20,000 views, 700+ responses, several hundred likes and developer attention. I can link you this information if you don't believe me (I'm willing to bet you do though, as I can copy and paste some of your tirades that you went through during said discussion).
I do agree, unfortunately SE is trying to guide this game to the a purely instanced content grinder. I have made it apparent that we as a playerbase want more than just instances. The Rep's said they the dev team will be looking at what I posted, so who knows? Maybe we might see more than just an instanced piece of garbage.
