I try not to visit the forums unless I'm looking for something in particular, so I wasn't aware lol. Probably should have been on notice though with the OP's necessity to place his name in the title.
I mean, it was instanced in same regard as each zone being an instance in itself.
Thanks Rokien, you actually hit it right smack on the nail for this one.
You've never heard of zone-wide attacks or King Vinegarroon, have you?
What the fuck..... I actually agree with this guy. Must.. be.. the.. end... of the world
Yeah this is lame...when I read that I was disappointedI hope its not some cave instance thing again ugggh
I thought the mobs would invade those little towns....but I guess not :/...
King Vinegaroon? Are you citing absurd spawn conditions?
Certainly the party wih claim being teleported to the mob isn't an example of a zone-wide attack? Because I recall it being a feature of convenience.
"Everyone zone in and we'll claim" boom, instant travel thanks to an NM.
Not only do you intentionally miss the point thinking I'm talking about absurd spawn conditions but you're stupid enough to believe that KV's attack was out of convenience... /headblownKing Vinegaroon? Are you citing absurd spawn conditions?

I didn't play much of FFXI but I hear the fights where not near as involved with battle mechanics as the primals, the primals require you to not be able to go far during the fight, the limited space is part of the fight, open world would not allow this.
