System menu, last selection in the window, "Exit Game." Upon activation, this pushbutton pops a window that states "Log out and exit the game?" with "Ok" or "Cancel" pushbuttons ready for use. Got it.

However, there is another function, er, somewhere, that pops a window that states, "Exit the game?" with "Ok" or "Cancel" pushbuttons ready for use. ????? Does anyone know what spawns this window? Somehow, in my travels with mouse and cursor, I run across a click somewhere that induces the game to pop that window. I'm goin' nuts tryin' to find out what spawns that puppy.

you mean this? this prompt pops when you attempt to force quite the client, it's been a thing since like forever.
if you want to see it just simply click the X on the window of the client (if in window mode) or the windows taskbar.
