Classes and Jobs are alright, but I would like to see them lock how they can be used in the future. For example: If you were to enter a raid and you are a Dragoon. You could only play as Dragoon. There's a little too much freedom.

Who said anything about opinions(which can be shit and misinformed)? I was talking about this argument. If classes had any chance of being outed, we'd be playing as MNK, WAR, PLD, DRG, BRD, BLM, and WHM instead of classes.
SE hasn't stated once that it's ending with 5 skills per job, or that they're even done with improvements to the system. Don't flip your lid just yet.

Or you know they can just make a new class for those jobs... they are not gonna just sit here with 7 classes forever.

I like the system as it is now, I like being able to go on Gla and do AOE Dmg and self heal and stuff, i feel more Paladin like than being a Paladin without Cure and such.
I also like being able to opt as Thaumaturge to Raise/heal which BLM Lacks.
I dont believe there is much diversity between them, as the differences in most scenarios dont work, but in the scenario they said,where job = group, class = solo, it works perfectly. Although i wouldnt solo as conjurer over whm lol. Whm gets lucky and has the best subclasses XD (maybe exclusing thm mp thingy)
Ya, just think of it, another job for Glad would be to shed his shield and pick up another sword. This would happen with a job, just like you said, but now your shield abilities are replaced with new sword abilities. Just a thought, but I was for the idea of multiple jobs per class as long as you don't get locked out of any jobs.
Still, we will have to wait and see, the other option is new classes + Jobs, this would introduce leveling as well as new abilities and strategies with cross class/job selections.![]()

so the question could be: we need a boost on our level cap to have enough skills per job to feel diferent from your class?
Or 10 skills per job at level 50?
I don't care either way, personally I don't plan to touch a class again until they add new ones..
The idea of multiple jobs per class is good but I can't say I would miss classes if all we had were jobs.
If I had to choose I would probably say remove classes and just keep jobs.
that i know myself... BUT... the sense is lost more and more, because of this.
when you invent all the time one class for a new job, then the class is very useless..
you could also implement just the job itself then without a pre-class.. why do i need the preclass then, if the class itself is almost the job?
this system only causes, that the jobs in the end are nearly similar to each other. think of a future job "dark knight" for gladiator for example..
pld and DRK have almost the same skills from the same base skills pool (gladiator) and then 5 skills which they differenciate themselves from each other... is that really good? the jobs appear more similar to each other then.
yah you can make THM as the second subjob for DRK instead of CNJ... but you also have the same standard attack skills from the gladiator.
DRK and PLD had in FFXI completeley OWN skills ... in FFXIV they would have almost the same skills from the base pool of gladitor. (which make the mosts skills then).
i mean you start a new job... "oh wait... these skills i used to play 50 levels with my gladiator/pld all the time.. i have to play with them as dark knight over and over again?...oh wait, i have 5 new skills + thm skills (which i am used to also).. hm"
plus that the class and the job are wielding the same weapon (till now) so with a dark you should also swing a sword like a gladi. or you make it like that way, that a DRK can wield a sword and exclusively a scythe. the system like now is unfinished. it is just a patchwork.
for now it works, not for 2.0.
we need a complete new system in 2.0. .. my thoughts about it.
i mean come on.. gladi -> pld , cnj -> whm havent been a THAT huge new experience.. it almost felt like the class itself.
i first thought i like the current system, the more i am thinking about it... new job system in 2.0.? -> yes please
