This happened to Zalera a couple days ago and it took them a short while to fix it. Just take a few hours or the evening off.

And none of us cared enough to make any posts about it, either.

Of course it would be a Balmungian making noise just because the server crashed. =p

A couple of xiv groups I'm in outside the forums did have quite a few Zalerians (Zalerans? Zalerites?) raising a ruckus but that's just what people do when something unexpected happens. Sounds like a good time to catch up on another game or something to me!

So this thing of entire worlds just going offline has been happening more than it should be since 5.5. What's going on at SE for this to happen at all?

I just found it amusing. No idea what you’re hinting at. Been spending time with my husband since then off the computer.

It'll be interesting to see how the expanded server visit function affects server stability across the board. I'm of the tentative belief that a fair few servers are perhaps a bit too strained beyond their capabilities already. I suspect it doesn't help that a lot of people keep their character logged into the game for lengthy periods even if they're entirely AFK throughout.
