Actually my theory with legit Crafters that it would stop them from updating the price all the time, and while the bots keep outdoing eachother and eventually cause their own self-destruction.
I doubt bots have unlimited gil (far as I know anyway).
I undercut 1gil and have 10 retainers.
You don't pay my sub.

This is hilariously wrong.
Free market, my love. You gotta play the market game if you wanna stay on top!The thread title explains it all: one-gil undercutters are the sole reason market prices crash. Here is exactly what happens:
The market would be a utopia if only there were no one-gil undercutters
P.S. While I'm at it, seriously go frick yourself if you think it's a good idea to list lvl 56 armor for 100k.
I don't agree that they're the sole reason the markets are terrible, but I do feel like it's probably a significant contributor as the undercut bots provoke people into making bigger undercuts either out of frustration or a deliberate effort to find their price floor when they really don't care a lick about how low they have to drag the prices if it means driving away their legitimate competition.
I think the increase in map farming bots is likely due to the fact that they've oversaturated the market to a point where they're not making enough gil for the crafting to be worthwhile even for them.
I'd rather undercut by 1 gil or 5 gil than 20k and completely crash the market, 1-10gil you can at least maximize your profit. but hey you want to undercut my 1gil by 20k 30k go for it. I'll just buy your item cheap and relist it and make 2x as much![]()
Sure, by sitting at the marketboard for 10h a day with all the other 1g undercutters and end up making fuck all. I see items regularly sell on the MB for LESS than you would get by vendoring it and the MB filled with those items in 1g intervals.
Today i started to undercut by 13k exactly.
I think is a simbolic number for XIV, so for the weekend ill be crashing markets 13k at a time.

Personally, I wish more mmos would adopt the Guild Wars 2 Auction house.
Uncutters don't really benefit from 1 gil/gold/etc undercuts because ALL listings under that price are listed together. You can choose exactly how much you want to buy. Only need 10 and not 20, but there's no listings up for 10? No biggy, just buy 10 anyway.
WoW actually adopted something like it recently, though the UI is a little more confusing and less user-friendly. (Easier to buy the ENTIRE listing) But still, they've adopted it and I hope FFXIV one day does, too.
