Sweet! To speak specifically to "why are these new weapons class-specific?" - the development team plans to implement a variety of equipment that meets and fulfills all types of needs for the adventurers of Eorzea. It just so happened that those implemented this time were class-specific. With this said, it wasn’t their intention to try and change battle balance or force any particular type of play style because of the implementation of class-specific equipment.
To address the question about "Why are these types of items in the new recipes when they were removed in a previous patch?" The reason why nuggets where removed from recipes alongside the recipe adjustments was due to the fact that many low-level recipes had multiple steps in their recipe making them overly complex. It wasn't meant to be taken that they would never be used again in the future.
As we stated previously, the below is the plan for new recipes:
-Low level: No multi-step materials, easy to craft
-High level: Multi-step materials, high difficulty
The recipes added this time were high-level ones.
The devs have good plans. <3
LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.
(Marvelous economics IQ test!)
MRD seems to do a lot better solo/light party than WAR in my experience. More HP, access to CNJ spells. And on Ifrit, LNC and THM are MUCH more helpful to the party than their respective jobs. There will always be a place for classes. Maybe some people even prefer classes over jobs. The new class weapons will be used. Just because YOUR opinion is that classes are trash and shouldn't be played doesn't mean you have the right to come onto the forums and act your views count as everyone's and shut down people who say otherwise.
If the devs come up with something you don't like then you can have your opinion, but let the rest of us play the game how we want.
Why does the Archer in the video get to wear Darklight Set then? that's cheating!
Jobs are for full party situations, Classes are for low man/solo situations. Classes don't have exclusive gear comparable to JSE, what's so wrong about implementing gear for every type of play stile? The way that you are talking about it, you make it sound like this new gear is so phenomenal that we will be sweating bullets trying to decide if we want to bring the WAR or the MRD to our next run. But it isn't, even if jobs could use it, many of the new pieces are comparable to already existing AF, so you really aren't adding any more variety because the gear just isnt THAT amazing that everyone is going to want to start rolling classes instead of jobs in situations where they wouldnt have anyways.
Also, I could be wrong but I thought the point of having classes and jobs was so that eventually each class could have multiple jobs to choose from? So yeah, It might seem like jobs are super superior right now but that's generally because they usually are, and this gear is likely not going to change that.
Yall retards if you think Classes aren't useful or Jobs are OP. Probably the same people that full-time AF and think they are geared properly.
Like I stated earlier. Its not as though also allowing jobs to equip the gear would make players who prefer playing as classes unable to do so. I don't think that it should be only usable by jobs, but rather be usable by both jobs and classes.MRD seems to do a lot better solo/light party than WAR in my experience. In reality I feel as though anything equipable by a class should automatically be equipable by its corresponding job. You would think gear compatibility would transfer just as all the classes base skills do. But I guess that's just me.
Again, the jobs and classes are geared for different type of play stiles and in most cases, different type of play stile would require a better distribution of stats. We are restricted on how many times we can re-spec stats, so the dev team introduces gear that solves that issue.Like I stated earlier. There are job exclusive gear and now there are class exclusive gear. You don't see anyone complaining about not being able to use JSE on classes. Some of you guys will just eat up any shit that SE produces with a smile, It's unbelievable.
Hard to get excited about new patch gear when I cant equip it without giving up all of my War Exclusive abilities/stat bonuses/entire AF set (no thanks), and garuda weapons look disappointing to boot.
I've been loving the progress on FFXIV lately but I feel like the items in this patch are entirely lackluster. I don't even want to work towards any of the new items.
i dont understand why people whine and cry about content. if you dont like it or feel like its useless, dont use it. simple. they are trying to expand this game horizontally with this patch to appease different players and playstyles.
im glad garuda weapons aren't a full upgrade over mog/ifrit. it sucks to work ur ass off getting mog/ifrit weapon only for it to be obsolete in 3 months.
i am not against giving players options or content. any content is good regardless of how useless you think it is

You tell em, Ru.
Also: yay for the return of crafting complexity!
