    i thought they took nuggets out for a reason, over complicated recipes. I think its a bit odd that our crafting "end game" crafts are useless garbage that no one will want. heres why:

    this stuff is not gonna be easy to make, you have to farm special mats ect. its gonna cost a fortune, if people don't want to pay a lot for it no one is gonna make it. complete waste. The thought process that went behind this gear should have really been put to something more important.

    the overcomplicated stuff is gone now

    but i think a huge reason is so that there is more to level on

    they mentiuoned they needed filler for people to level on, and this may have been the solution

    i would go out and start mining dark steel to sell for completely inflated prices but i don't think anyone will want it... oh and i fixed that for you

    Hi Syntax,

    I don't mind the Class-Only Equipment... it's more options for players & more variety. I do agree that if they wanted to make more "high level / difficult" *crafted* equipment, that they should've started with Job-Only Crafted stuff first. But then again, as others have said, maybe Yoshi-P wants to bring some emphasis back to Classes (after all the Job System fanfare recently)?

    Besides that, I totally agree with you:

    Why are they bringing back the concept of Nuggets, Weapon Parts and Armor Parts when they stripped all this out with their Crafting Reform?

    They wanted a "more difficult" synthesis / high level recipes, so I guess this is their answer to increasing difficulty: By making more steps to getting a finished product.

    Getting an HQ version of these new Darksteel Items seems like it'll be a bigger endeavor than what we've had recently, but maybe not as bad as the old Iron Armor set (with all its Sub Parts)...

    I don't like them mixing concepts at such an early stage...

    It's one thing if, say, it was for "Relic Weapons" or "Relic Armor" (something super hard, long-term goals). But these are merely difficult for us in the short-term (before the first Level Cap increase).

    It seems more like a Crafter & Gatherer Time Sink to keep them busy (and Combat-focused players who want to try and HQ stuff).

    yea, they gears should have been high end crafted items for jobs, an alternative to af and the elusive dungeon drops.
    if they were for jobs at least there would be a demand to make them, for classes they make them way to hard to make for stuff that no one will want(and the few people that do want them will have to pay out the ass cause not many people gonna go through the trouble to make them)

    ....because classes are for soloing and jobs are for group content? It makes perfect sense that they want classes to retain some use for the solo players, what with DL gear being job only.

    How often do you actually solo on a combat class at 50 though, apart from doing achievements?

    And I agree with an earlier post; for the most part, jobs can do it just as well as classes at 50. As your leveling up, classes are a little better because of their flexibility, but this is high level gear, so it seems pointless. Again, I haven't seen the stats on it, but I can't imagine it's going to be so great that it trumps AF or Darklight with multiple melds AND with no access to job abilities that the classes still outperform their job counterparts.
