Just the fact they have to say "it is fine..." tells you it's not really, but that there is some "wiggle room" or "gray area" being presented. Any officially supported DPS meter where it is truly fine needs no such statements.
No one asks for maximized DPS, we ask for bare minimum like doing damage as a healer or using AOEs against multiple mobs.Do some people not realize many of us don't give a crap about maximizing DPS? I do my rotation. I am just trying to get through my roulettes and move on. I play for the story, not to live up to other player's expectations. This is an MMO, we can all play however the heck we want. It is also a GAME, some of you act like this is real life and obviously need some therapy and a good dose of medication.
Great irony in you pointing out that this is a MMO. If you're so absolutely unwilling to do more than press 1 button and be respectful of the other people in your party, it's a poor mindset to have in a team environment. You're free to play how you want, but not free of consequences.

Cool, doesn't excuse you for being deadweight tho. And honestly, I will heed the advice of many to kick people who aren't putting the modicum of effort the make the run pleasant for everyone.Do some people not realize many of us don't give a crap about maximizing DPS? Some would say healing as a healer is the bare minimum (unless there is a DPS check). And using AOE against multiple mobs is at least about increasing if not maximizing DPS, but people should do it anyway.
The person you quoted said they do their rotation. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and not think that means only pressing 1 button. If you're so absolutely unwilling to do more than press 1 button...
Yeah I said you not necessarily talking about whoever I was responding to, but more about the type of person OP and I were talking about. Some would say healing as a healer is the bare minimum (unless there is a DPS check). Like come on. Having a headache isn't an excuse for being unable to do 1-2-3 on DRG.

Choosing to be good at what you are doing is a personal choice, the same as being mediocre. I don't like doing something that I am not good at which is why I look for ways to make sure that I am improving and doing whatever I am doing with perfection. Otherwise, I don't want to be doing it. Just because someone has decided to perform great, even though it is a game doesn't mean that they don't have a life or are in need of some therapy. To me, playing well is like dressing up appropriately for the said occasion. In both cases, you are interacting with people and you are leaving good or bad impressions.
If you see someone dealing no dmg then you can just look in-game what they are doing.
Caster are especially easy to figure out why they deal so much less dmg.
Give them advice in what they could improve.
If they continue to play like a bot or even get offensive then you have a reason to yeet them out of your group.
You don't need a 3rd party tool to proof that someone is not playing correctly. But it helps to faster identify the reason to why everything dies so slow.
Yep. Got into the Copied Factory one day on the roulette as a dragoon and had another dragoon in the party in full savage gear, had about 10,000 HP more then I did. About halfway through the first boss I glanced up at the party list and saw I was number two on the aggro and they were dead last on the aggro. I thought this was odd so I started watching them and saw they were just auto-attacking.If you see someone dealing no dmg then you can just look in-game what they are doing.

Dancers not using steps or picking partners. Dragoons not using jump attacks. Red Mages ignoring their melee combo. Paladin not using off-cooldowns like Spirits Within or Circle of Scorn. Party members not using their AoE combos on mass pulls. All this stuff is easy to spot without the need of third-party software. Good damage output will follow naturally from knowing your class's toolkit and rotation, having decent gear and knowing enough about the fight mechanics to avoid getting knocked out.
