If you don't know the person, should cut them some slack and be willing to believe they are having a bad day and not slacking on purpose. There isn't an official damage meter for this reason, to avoid people getting mad at party members doing low numbers.

If you're unwell enough that it impacts your performance just

    Don't play a multiplayer game.
    It's not that hard.
When I get sick or something, I just don't queue and do something that's singleplayer. Don't make excuses for them when they could be crafting or running trusts instead.

You can honestly say that in your time in FFXIV you have never done multiplayer content at a less than perfect level? never had a phonecall, angry spouse, pet on the keyboard, child throwing up, tree crashing through the window, teen chewing your bandwidth with a pr0n torrent?

You are an amazing person if you are able to play at the top of your game all the time.

You know, there is a difference between having something come up during an instance and queueing up for something knowing you're going to underperform.

And yeah, if I something comes up mid-duty that really affects how I play, I just dip, because I don't want to be a deadweight.

Regardless though, I've endured worse while playing than a headache, and it never prevented me from playing at savage-level, let alone magically render me unable to AOE.

Edit: And also, there is a difference between playing less than perfect and underperforming.

It reminds me of like 3-4 years ago in a roulette. Keeper of the Lake. It was a fairly late in the night queue. Most of the dungeon goes fine but after the second boss I just... have to pop hallowed and everything, and then eventually die. What ensued was eventually the healer getting snippy with me and that they were falling asleep. So I died because they were falling asleep? Why the heck did they queue if they can't remain awake?

My friend cohealer and I healed the City of Mhach raid drunk, she fell asleep during Ozma, I could hear her snoring over VC...but somehow she managed to stay alive and we didn't let people die. Drunk healing can be fun.

I mean, falling asleep, I guess sucks but could happen if some misjudges how awake they are, but getting snippy for letting somebody die, then that's no beuno. I see no shame in taking responsibility for your own mistakes, if anything your party is going to have less of a problem with you, because at least by acknowledging it, they can safely assume you'll not repeat it or will make the effort not to.

I'm sure you do not need to use act to notice they are not using aoe skills. Also why carry them all they way? Just vote kick and get someone who will put in some effort...

You're planning to use parsing.. a known "don't ask don't tell" issue with SE, to report someone.

    Please go ahead.

This new crop of trolls, playing the "by the book not by the spirit" rules sticklers is getting old.

A known by whom? Do you really expect someone who is new FFXIV to know that tracking DPS is a bannable offence? In what other modern games DPS tracking gets you banned? At the end of the day, I think I am talking with humans when submitting a report, not mindless bots who enforce rules because rules are rules. Whatever the case, the response to my question is pretty unanimous, don't do it, kick them or just leave.

To an outsider such as myself, players with 8 years old account who claim that my post is troll look like people who have warped their minds to the point where they can't possibly empathize or understand the perspective of a new player.

For the record, using a parser gets you actioned if you admit to it in game or have a go at someone with parser readouts. The devs can't actually determine whether or not you're using something without your own admission of it. That's why it's described as a 'don't ask don't tell' thing. Generally you'll be fine if you keep your usage of ACT to yourself. It's.. semi tolerated because of it's usage for the Savage crowd. Reprimanding others with info from it is not because SE doesn't want to foster such an environment.

Generally you're supposed to use it for self improvement aimed towards high end content, not to work yourself up into a frothing frenzy at how bad others are doing. There's more than a few people here who can tell you how depressing and sobering it is to do generic DF content with ACT active. It apparently won't do your mood any good.

In all honesty though you don't need ACT for that even, I can tell when, and for the record, I do not use parsers as I don't engage in high end content, I can tell even without any tools when a run isn't going as it should. When you do.. I don't know, Stone Vigil five times for the XP and in one of those five runs time it all goes so much slower and every step seems like you have to fight Nidhogg to take it, yeah.. something is up.
