Concerning the Butterfinger mount promo

I am wondering if the company of Square Enix is aware that the chocorpukkur mount is only available in the United States. The code you get as part of the promotion with Butterfinger CAN be used on any account. However, the promotion itself is only available to those who live in the United States.

I am dismayed at this, since I am Canadian, and I would really have liked that mount. Canada has not now, nor has had any such option to partake in any contest(s) where an exclusive mount could be obtained. To say nothing of other countries that happen to not be Japan or the US.

I have been paying for the game for nigh on four years now. I do not regret the years spent playing this fantastic game. However, I\\'m wondering if you value players in North America as much as you say. The United States is not the only country in North America. We (Canada) are here too. We ultimately pay the same price for the product. Yet we find ourselves barred from all that potentially entails. My question is: why?

Legalities. It's not really unusual at all for promotions/contests to separate Canada and the USA. Heck, even within Canada many contests leave out Quebec and some contests that do include the USA only include mainland USA.

It's unfortunate but, as you say, the item codes are usable everywhere so if you can get a friend from the USA to help you out you can still get the mount. And yes, I'm pretty sure SE knows given they are the ones who made the contest/promo.

Ferrero only got Nestlé US. The rest of Nestlé is still Swiss-owned. It's conceivable that they might have contracts restricting promos and partnerships.

I'm here to destroy your notion of hope! While that could mean that they will bring promotions for other areas as well, it could also never happen. EU has never gotten the Fat Black Chocobo everyone else got, for example.
