They have a plugin that allows them to connect to Discord and send or get messages/commands. "Why no, Ms or Mr GM I'm not botting!" Said remotely.

Easy, solution, the GM should get them to do something in game can CANNOT be achieved with text.
How many people do you need to dedicate to policing every Data Center/Realm/World/Zone/Instance in the game, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year?
How much extra are you willing to pay in order to provide each and every one of those people with a salary commensurate with the responsibility, given the fact that American minimum wage is not an option?
How willing are you to be accused and/or stricken from the game because some automated system decided that the 14 hours you just spent working toward a higher rating in the Ishgard restoration project seemed out-of-line with 'normal people' in game?
Sure, it seems like an easy enough thing to implement without knowing anything about the coding or staffing levels required.
Would you be willing for SE to monitor all of the processes running on your computer while playing FFXIV if that was guaranteed to eliminate bots?
Complain and report. Realize that what you might consider 'bots' may actually be people with behaviours you consider bot-like, and the reason you still see the exact same user (really?) after 3 years may be that they are not, in fact, a bot?
3 per data center seems plenty enough, each on an 8 hours shift. So in total that would be... 24 people?
I didn't know Square Enix was suffering in the department of income. Show me that they can't afford to make a choice such as that, and that'll be an argument, otherwise they're literally sitting on the money.
Hold on now, both we and you said this would involve hiring people, no? Not automated systems?
But as someone who has played those levels of times before, let's play pretend. Yes, because I actually don't have a risk, because I don't bot. Weird.
Sure. Some of their games on platforms like steam already do this anyways, proudly written for us to read should we wanna go through 400 pages of garbage. You'd actually be shocked how much of your computer is scanned by your daily programs.
One of said players actually straight admitted in my FC's chat they bot. They used it in an effort to leverage himself up on the pillar, and basically act like our only omni crafter at that time (our leader) was required to make him stuff as he could always supply anything at any time.
One of the reasons he isn't in the fc anymore was that I broke his bot cuz he was dumb enough to say messaging it enough turns it off out of safety of gm whispers, so it could pretend to be afk to gm's. This was in SB, this was a coil ultimate raider, and I can promise you 100% he is not banned.
So if we got someone who actively admits it in game not being punished, isn't that just a wee bit strange? Specially when he's been angry at me for breaking it, meaning that's more proof, is it not?
Yoshida already said they will not scan your pc for privacy reasons.
And how much money do you think the development gets to keep? It's known they have a tight budget and any money sub get is being used in other projects.
Anti cheats don't stop bots, it delsys them a few days if that to bypass it.
There is only 3 ways to stop boting and all suck tbh
1st if the game just flat out sold gil which removes the point of risk taking with a bot, second since most itens boted are from monster drops, just add a barn or something where we can breed monsters for monster parts.
Third is make what bots sell worthless and untradeable
Or you could ban china, India ips dince thsts basically were all the bots orginate from

no, a fourth option is to ban... permanently, gil buyers for cheating.Anti cheats don't stop bots, it delsys them a few days if that to bypass it.

do that often enough and that market dries up and rmt rings start vanishing on their own
Then they just buy three accounts one to buy gil other and trasfer it with things that are worth it lol, that doesn't prevent the smarter ones lol..
Also if banning them perm would have stoped them they would have died a lomg time ago.
To be honest bans are so easy to bypass even wow ones are by just using a vpn or different modem lol

I'm less concerned about chinese RMT bots than I am the bots floating around out there that automate gameplay up to and including PVP and savage/ultimate. They make honest competition impossible.
I believe thats wrong plain and simple. RMT doesnt make money off the "smart" people. they make money off volume. basic economics. and I have never heard of anyone being banned in this game for buying gil. Then they just buy three accounts one to buy gil other and trasfer it with things that are worth it lol, that doesn't prevent the smarter ones lol..

you do that often enough that people fear losing any progress, and the attitude about doing changes. The smart ones still may do it, but the normal player will not, which is where they make their real money.
