XBox Series X Controller on PC

    Hi,

when i connect my XSX Controller to my Gaming Notebook via Bluetooth and attempt to play FFXIV in Controller Mode, the Camera starts to slowly moving without me touching anything. It is like the right stick is moving on its own (so called "Drift").
If i open the Map after pressing X, the cursor starts to move too without me touching it.

It only happens in FFXIV. All other Games on my PC and XBOX work fine.
fun fact: when i stream FFXIV from my PC to my XBOX and play in the living room on my TV, the controller works fine, since its connected to my XBOX.

what can i do? i dislike k/m controls and streaming pc -> xbox is not that great in group content because of the input lag.

Try to Calibrate it within the xiv system settings as they're specific to that game..

You might find if the right stick was ever so slightly off-centre the first time you connected it. It'll have misconfigured the zero point or rest point.

And if it works fine everywhere else then it is likely the in game calibration that needs adjusting

i tried the ingame calibration multiple times - it wont chang
i am playing via steam btw and theres also some controller settings - but not sure if i can overwrite ffxiv controller settings and use steam settings? or maybe its the steam settings? i am really confused right now, since ffxiv is the only game i play via steam on a controller

edit: steam was the problem. i had to start ffxiv when playing in "big picture mode" and then switch the controller configuration to "xbox" from ps4. it works fine now

could be steam.. you can set up different controller profiles for everygame in steam. i use the elite series 2 with the paddles on the back and the paddles change based on which game im playing. the only anoying thing with steam is some of the controller calibration / customization can only be done in big picture mode.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums

Does this issue occur if another controller is used? Additionally does the issue occur if the controller is plugged in?

I have the same issues with the Non-PC version.

Actually to go more in-depth the Series X controllers do not correctly calibrate (using the in-game calibration tool) the start and select buttons --- for some reason it wants to assign the start button to the capture button.

Also this causes issues with the screenshot capture functionality

I'm using the PC (non-Steam) version.

This does not take place when using the Xbox One bluetooth and non-bluetooth controllers (non-Series X).
It also takes place across multiple systems.

Good afternoon and thank you for the reply.

MikeE21286 what have you tried so far to alleviate the issue? Does this issue occur after the controller drives are updated or reinstalled?

This issue also occurs in the Japanese version(Final Fantasy XIV 5.55 for Windows). Xbox Series X/S controller via Bluetooth, the right stick will be judged incorrectly and XHB doesn't work completely.

Other games that support Xbox wireless controllers works fine. This means that FF14 client program may have any bug about "Bluetooth LE XINPUT compatible input devices".
