Another thing to consider that some people seem to be conveniently forgetting: FanFest is coming in less than a week.

Even if they have some major news to share on any one of the Big Topics that people are so desperate for answers for, they're not going to reveal them in an interview with a content creator a week before the big show with mass media coverage intended to, you know, reveal all the stuff. Of course they're not going to go over major class changes, major content changes, major new content, etc. right now in one of these interviews and if you were expecting them to, well, I'm not sure what to tell you. (Which is also why Big News questions weren't really even asked in the first place because they would have just been handwaved or not even acknowledged)

While thats true, they also wont answer questions people are "insisting" on, like literally if he tells you 'We dont have any plans for that right now' or 'No' etc doesnt mean he will tell u 2-3 months later.
Thats not how game development works at all.
I dont remember which content creator was it that said Yoshi P wouldnt answer any 'HOT' questions, which is pretty common in the industry as a whole anyway.

Anytime there's a segment where they take player questions, they are going to vet them heavily. Anything super divisive or involving content they don't want to discuss won't get vetted through, because they just wouldn't answer it anyway.

Well how many trances does the job need? How long of a rotation do people want? Is Summoner really so broke it needs to be burned to the ground?

I think we will be able to summon primals and they will work like how mch automaton Queen and drk fray works. Where they fight for you on a timer then once timer goes to zero they will do their ultimate attack then vanish. That way no more pet ghosting and issues pet classes have in this game. Or, they might totally rework the pet system and it will be brand new and better than ever. Guess we will know before end walker. Hopefully.

Popping in late here; The egi pets and Summoner job in general getting such a massive restructuring has me even more anxious for how Scholar will be treated in Endwalker on top of Sage’s introduction. We’ve already lost Selene’s unique utilities and Lily herself is actually very underpowered for what the lore pushes. Selene verses Eos is now just glam, and all of our DoT based tools are just gone. We aren’t bad healers (insofar as a good SCH can clear everything), we’re just comparatively worse than WHM/AST in how the job flows.

Basically, the pet jobs just kinda fell apart the more and more the level cap went up.

I did like the short Mrhappy interview because we got some insight that YoshiP wants all his dev team to get good to tackle Ultimate on a whim, and how much he praises Blizzard to this day because they can all play at a high level. It's hard for the way they manage things but it's good to know he's open to changing their processes to make it work.

I'd be more worried if one was an Astro main, not so much Scholar. If anything they have to make Scholar more desirable with another dedicated barrier healer. Since day one, Scholar has never been at a true disadvantage.

Soil Mage and deleting ED did not put Scholar at a true disadvantage, eventually they made the job pound sand.

Nothing will ever come close to the scorn that White Mage faced at the end of Heavensward and beginning of Stormblood.

SCH was pretty much unplayable at the start of Stormblood. I'm not sure what you seem to be remembering but it was a bloody mess to even heal in dungeons, let alone higher end content. We had to get buffed almost on the next available patch because it was such a mess.

Launch AST was so underpowered that part of why WHM was in such a bad spot during that time frame was because AST was overbuffed and became the better HoT healer. And I feel like SCH and AST have been back and forth with the better shield heal spot since.

The only thing we know about Sage mechanically is the self-buffs, so my hope right now is that SCH and AST be the party buff healers and SCH getting some of Selene’s old skills back, where as WHM and SGE are more on personal DPS being high.


Just a few days left until we find out anything....
