Question answerd. Flawless is a HQ synth (+1) of the item .

So the difficulty in making it is that if you NQ, tha part is useless. It has to be a HQ synth or you can't use the part to create the armour or weapons

Fixed it for you but ya I noticed that to, it's nice that the materials don't turn into junk if you can't HQ, you'll be able to turn them into materials that are used later on in the weapon synth.

There doesn't seem to be a synth to turn weapon parts into flawless ones, so I presume that is the part that requires company intervention

My endless profits! I guess I'll still make a boat load of gil off selling the raw ore off miner but I was hoping Darksteel would be a GSM recipe so I could process them myself and sell it at a higher price.
