Skysteel Tools and Level Requirements.

Hey all veterans,

I started not too long ago, and am really loving the gathering and crafting system.

So I had been working on my Skysteel Tool for Miner and have reached Skysung Level.

I have this question and would like if anyone can share their answers.

The quest to take up the questline for the skysteel tools at Ishgard is at lv80 DoL/DoH.

Once endwalker is live, what will happen to the existing tools?
Will it be automatically converted to Lv90, which is the new level cap?
Or will there be some NPC that will allow you to convert them to the lv90 versions?

It's extremely unlikely that some kind of conversion will happen. Base on our experience with the previous 3 expansions, I am willing to guarantee that it won't happen.

What will happen is that new lvl 90 tools will be added to the game. The current Skybuilders' tools (final upgrade of your Skysung) will likely still be good to use until lvl 85 or 86. Then new basic tools from the crafting log that are around lvl 87 or 88 will be more superior than the Skybuilders. However, you may choose to skip the basic tools, and continue to use Skybuilders all the way until level 90 if you want. You'll feel a bit lacking stats around lvl 87-89, but you can probably still pull through if you're skilled enough.

New lvl 90 "white tools" (white gear and white tools refer to items without the "green", "blue" or "purple" background in the icon) will likely NOT have the glow that the Skybuilders have, but you can easily glamor them using the Skybuilders, so you can retain your glow to show off.

New lvl 90 shiny "relic" type of tools will likely be implemented a lot later than the starting point of Endwalker.

Actually I was reading your guide for the last part Skysung -> Skybuilders' before posting this. Great guide! It helped me to find everything i need to know in a single page!

If time permits, will continue to work on the other tools!
