    It looks like you are trying to bring a WoW solution to something that isn't even a problem in FFXIV. Since it's not a problem you seem to be trying to find a problem but there just obviously isn't one.

    Levelling your Chocobo
    Gathering,
    Lots of one time activities like the sightseeing log, aethercurrents, learning BLU spells,
    Etc.
