Whey they stopped adding holes for Miqo'te hats? :eek:

So, browsing through the available headgear to plan a Miqo'te alt's glam... I could see a pattern.

Nearly all of ARR's hats had holes for the ears. Then come following expansions, they added either less, or those awful-looking "ear pouches" when the holes would do just as fine.

Then... in the latest ShB sets, there's barely (if any?!) one or the other.

And in some cases, it's as bad as the Calfskin cap not having them when it would be realistically impossible to squish those ears under a thin cap.

I don't think in many of the cases (like this cap), adding the hole would be any complicated engineering or something like that, would it?

I've noticed it too and it really bothers me.

There is some gear where the ear covers make sense, but my big issue with those is that the artists don't seem to bother checking the actual size or position where the ears should be. As long as it's got two points somewhere on the sides of the head, they're done.

They're usually in the wrong position and half the proper size, and I hate using those hats because they look so wrong and uncomfortable PLUS inherently ugly for having random spikes sticking out of the design.

It hurts to bend ones ears under the cap, but it could be worse! We could have huge ears like rabbits and need to bind them up and shove them into the latest Amalj'aa donghelmet design.

They have never seemed to have a problem with this. Every single top piece with a sash or cape-ish thing just clips your tail. Most gear doesn't have rhyme or reason for a tail hole, and it just pokes through.

I think the thing is that the ears don't just "clip through" - they're slightly disconnected from the head with the gap normally covered by the hair, so hats need to line up with the bottom edge of the ears to look right.

It's possible they just want to skip out on whatever effort is needed to get that right.

Speak for yourself. I cried seeing the return of elezen ear socks for the Nier gear :C
