I don't know of an challenge log entry for that. Spiritbonding being faster is a point I guess, but you're talking about a really slow return there and it's ultimately not really even worth mentioning that as a way of making gil I feel.

Well, which is it? Is materia too expensive to meld, or not expensive enough to be worth selling extra freebies of? This thread is baffling to me. "It's too much money... but I don't want to make that money."

I never said it was too expensive to meld at all. I'm saying that I don't know of any challenge log for melding materia and that eventually getting a random type of a random level of materia isn't a worthwhile way of making money especially if you're suggesting using the materia to gain materia faster. It's not really a great investment.

I'm not saying "You shouldn't meld materia" or "It's too expensive", I'm just saying that "You can make money from it" isn't a great reason.
