only once, and it’s not like it made me think of healers a certain way, but it’s certainly annoying enough to stand out in ones head. Average healers are a dime a dozen, which makes the outliers a lot more prevalent in your brain.

However because of this I can tell you every time I’ve gotten a shoddy healer - which is probably like 10 times out of the probably 300 dungeon runs I’ve done. Majority in Aurum Vale (those dang WHM, I swear it sounds like I have a vendetta against them when I don’t, it’s just WHM IN THAT DUNGEON that suck) and a few in other dungeons. Just yesterday my group wiped twice because we got a pug healer that didn’t listen to us explain the mechanics of the last boss in gubal library.

I don’t know how on earth others negative experiences have become the majority for them, though.
The question is, was that healer just really bad at juggling damage and healing, or were they a purposeful malicious force who woke up this morning saying, "Yes, today I will only cast Stone because wiping everyone in my leveling roulette is the only thing that sustains me in this veil of tears"?

Because outside the very rare dedicated troll, I'm guessing it was the former. And I dislike it when people screech and wail about healers trying to deal damage and failing to balance it well, because whenever I see that kind of critical forum thread leveled at that type of healer it's basically never "hey looks like this healer can't handle these pulls, maybe adjust your mental slider on heal output to damage" and comes packaged more like "Stupid stinky healers not knowing their place. Don't they know they're not supposed to touch those damage spells if it means creating any difficulty for meeeeeeeee? Healers are slaves who should live to serve my dungeon experience, who cares if they're having fun?"

The unfortunate elephant in the room is, the more skilled a healer gets at the efficiency game, the closer to the edge of death the group is going to ride. Them's the breaks. Complaint threads that wag fingers at this fact are basically asking for healer jobs that can't fail them. Why not ask for the invincibility buff in instances and be done with it?
