Yoshi's already stated retainer would be shared across ALL characters on the server. This thread is pointless and dumb. Even less intelligent is the use of the word "exploit"; beyond having LOTS of items which almost anyone, in any other mmo, at any dang time can do right now; provide me one solid reason as to why we can't have more than one character? Are you a die hard ffxi'er who wants to pay through the nose for characters?

If you don't like having them or other people having them than make friends with people who won't do it. Get their login info and check their accounts on a regular basis if they have more than one character. You all can stick together.
