Collectable Items?

During mining and gathering resources I occasionally come upon some nodes that offer "collectables". A screen comes up and I click some different things and usually end up with a bunch of non-stackable items. The names of these include:

yellow kudzu root
Rarefied Larch log
Rarefied Limonite
Rarefied Chalcocite
Peaks Pigment

I no longer bother gathering these things because they take up a lot of storage space.

Am I missing something here? Is there something I can do with these things?

Rarefied items are turned in for gatherer scrips. Non-rarefied collectors items are used for custom delivery turn ins. The two you mentioned specifically are for M'Naago's custom deliveries.

For both, when you harvest them you wanna get their rating as high as possible. The higher the rating, the better rewards you get from turning them in (and rarefied ones generally need a minimum quality to even turn in, custom deliveries tend to be a bit more forgiving.)

I thought Canadane gave very concise answers to both your threads regarding this topic and it seemed like you understood what collectables are for from your own research.
