Game freezes on Macbook M1 Pro

    Hello everyone,

I hope this is the right place to ask. When I'm playing FFXIV on my Macbook M1 Pro sometimes the screen of the game freezes and nothing is responding anymore. When I'm in Discord with friends, I can still hear and talk to them, but nothing else works. I can even still hear the game sound. I have no idea how to replicate this problem.

I tried googling, but couldn't find anything reliable. Some suggested it could be heating problems for other games, but I doubt that. The fans never turned on and the device itself didn't feel hot. I also installed a temp measurement tool and my highest was 59°C, running a dungeon.

I hope anyone can help me with that. MacOS is fully up to date and not even one week old at this point and my settings are Standard (Mac).

    Thanks in advance!

Good afternoon and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

What have you tried so far to alleviate the issue? What are the specifications of the Mac?

Thanks for your answer! I am using a 512 gb ssd, 8 gb ram Macbook M1 Pro. I didn't try much because I have no idea how the error occurs. But now I played like 3 straight days (dungeons, raids everything) and no problems so far. I think the issue resolved itself with Big Sur 11.3 update maybe? Thread can be closed thank you for your time <3
