    Feedback on overall game experience (former wow player, new at ff14)

    Hello guys, my name is Raphael, i'm 34 years old, and a long date fan from the FF franchise. I've left wow in around 2 months ago(after a 11 years play there), and started playing final fantasy, and would like to sugest some changes, since the new xpac is comming soon.

    ITEM SYSTEM


    1- Get us a option to auto-pass equipments from a determined item lvl or bellow (for example, so when we run the daily rouletes as a high level character, not needing to click pass on every boss / loot). Make it remembers you, when you set this option, at every dungeon you enter, that the option is set on and if you would like to turn it off for this determined stance. Since mounts and minions dont have item lvl, they would continue as normal, as it is.

    2- Also regarding loot, please, get us a visual notification for 'already owned' on mounts, companion and coffer based glamours (like the 2b one), to avoid rolling on something you already own (in the same way as how duplicated gear works).


    CHARACTER BALANCING


    On this issue, i only had 2 major complains

    1- Archer gameplay experience, at lower levels, feels terrible. I mean, i played tons and tons of mmo rpgs at my life, and Ff14 Archer can easily fit the top 10 worst. There's no rotation, the overall spells feels just.... not funny, no overall skill animation, and even considering the atributes (like damage, cooldown usage, etc), its bad. After you class change into Bard it feels a lot better to play, but overall, i feel someone start the game as Archer, wont have a ff14 level experience.

    2- Please, get summoner any kind of healing spell. Physick on summoner has a terrible scale, me, at item lvl 510, with around 110k hp, and each physick casts heal me for 800. No need to be something broken, maybe add some kind of heal into the Titan-Egi and remove physick overall, or just make physick a bit closer on red mage healing spell (Since both are damage dealers with some form of healing / battle ress).

    Extra- This is personal for me, so i can understand if someone counter-argument me; But i really feel that scholar healing should be more Fairy based, and less you casting spells based. I mean, at lower levels, the fairy healing feels really impactfull, and you heal to help her (she's the main healer, she's the one who make the things roll), but as higher you level, the less the fairy healing is impacting. Lower a bit our overall healing (maybe change it into 100% shield based overall), and let the fairy handle the healing, so, at this way, we can still continue to be a support for the fairy (shielding), while she's the main healer on the class.

    3- Make the glamour system a bit easier to set up, maybe, if possible, in the same way as wow transmog system (when you get a item appearance, it goes saved into your account / character), so you dont need to worry on tossing some item, and later regret because you wanted the appearance and dont wanna farm it again. Also, 400 slots is kinda low, if you consider how many classes we got, and how many amazing appearances on this game we have to choose. (Yes, i like changing appearances a lot.)


    Also, overall, thank you for the amazing community and overall game, it feels amazing <3

    Welcome to Eorzea!.

    On your ARC point, a lot of it's problem is it was somewhat redesigned from it's original form in the original version of FFXIV (version 1.0) that is now shutdown (and which ARR replaced). There, ARC actually had ammunition you had to purchase and equip in the offhand slot, but the drawback of that was it cost you gil for every arrow you loosed, so it was a very expensive class to play as (FFXIV's MMORPG predecessor FFXI also had this problem). ARR changed that by dropping the arrow cost requirement and just handwaved it away that you were automatically replenishing your arrows, but the class's abilities were altered to be more accomodating to it's Job upgrade to BRD (originally in 1.0, there was just classes like ARC and Job upgrades were only added to the original game in a patch), but this meant ARC lost a lot of it's identity to simply being a stepping stone to BRD.

    As for SMN healing, until recently Physick remained actually quite potent for SMN unless you were at high levels - I once ran Brayflox Longstop as SMN in the early days of ARR and basically had to take over as healer for that run due to the party's actual healer (a WHM) being new to the game and to healing, and was still learning the ropes, and thus very very green, and kept failing to keep the tank alive - seeing this was going to go pear-shaped rapidly, I started shooting Physick spells the tank's way, and somehow, we got through that dungeon, battered and bruised, but alive, and I got three commendations from it. Sadly such a situation simply could never happen again alas.

    Part of Physick's issue was the recent (from Shadowbringers's onwards) change to making healing spell potency directly controlled by MND rather than only being influenced by it but having it's own default potency cap that scaled with level, hence why Physick is totally underpowered for SMN at most levels. I'd love to see SE return healing spells to being independent in their potency instead of having "one stat to rule them all", but I'm pretty sure SE are pretty set on it.

    Finally, on glamour, players have requested repeatedly for some kind of glamour log to be introduced but Yoshi and the development team have consistantly said "no" due to how gear appearence is handled by the client prevents such a system from being programmed easily - the glamour prisms and the glamour dresser are actually workarounds to simply make glamour available. Unfortunately it's not something that can be easily implemented, as requested as it is.

    Ohhhh, i'm sad to hear about the Archer, i really hope they get a bit of early game change on the class, i can imagine someone dropping the game after choosing Archer because the way the class roll ; / At least, on the Glamour issues, i hope they get more glamour slots for us, since i dont even have all lvl 80 classes and around 300+ stocked glamours already </3

    About the summoner one, i think the main issue is that his heal spell is the very same from the healer (thus, using MIND). Considering Vercure as a direct example, maybe if summoner got a new healing spell, could solve, or no?
